We spent 5 nights there. The hotel itself has an excellent location - just few meters from Rossio square. Unfortunatelly there is no elevator and if you have a heavy luggage it will need some physical activity to bring it to eg 3rd floor. Because of central location of the hotel there was noise from the street (even at 2 am).
Very friendly and helpfull english speaking staff at 24H reception. In the small lobby there was possible to use computer with internet for free - eg. for online check in for return flight. If you want to print airplane ticket it costs 0,5 € per page. Also Wifi was available in lobby and around - unfortunatelly no signal in our room.
The room was clean and very small, equipped with old furniture - TV, fan, no heating. The only wardrobe smelled so much that we didn't use it at all. The entrance to the bathroom looked like another wardrobe's door. The bathroom itself was really small - hard to turn around inside. To use toillet you can easily bump your knees :)
No breakfast included. We went for breakfast to Pastelería cca 30m from the hotel - breakfast menu - coffee & croisant or sandwich (ham&cheese) cost 3,5€

Fantastic location, right next to Rossio. Basic rooms but comfy and clean and quiet and friendly staff. For the money, you can't ask for much more. We stayed for 3 nights with our 3 year old son and we're pleased with the place.

Location of hotel is excellent - in city center, near metro stations Rossio and Restauradores. It was really easy to get everything that we planned to watch in Lisbon!
Our accomodation has had 2 rooms and it's size was quite spacious. Room was clean, towels and bed linen was changing on time.
There is no heating in hotel and we had a bit smell of wetness in our wardrobe. However, it did not spoil the overall good impression of hotel, especially of it's price-quality relation.
Hotel's staff is very responsive - we used computer and printer at reception, when checked-in our flight; asked receptionist to call a taxi for us or explain something about neighborhoods.
The hotel fully met our expectations and Lisbon holiday was great!

The location couldn't be any near the heart of city,Rossio,"i",areobus stop, metro, tram 28 to the old area, tram 15 to Belem, all you can imagine.Price is very cheap, too budget for us,I just can't image why I would choose this hotel.
All the other rooms are big, except Room 209,can't turn over, and also the bathroom,I don't know how to stand.Furnitures are old,not feel good.

I visited lisbon, portugal for 3 days trip( Feb.24 to 26 2012). The hotel is very close to the centre of Lisbon. Lisbon airport very near to city center.public transportation is excellent bus no. 745 - luggage allowed(each bus stop information display) or 44 to Rossio square(reach 20 to 25 minutes),it costs 1.75 euros or Aero Bus 1(3.40 euros for all carris network) for 24 hrs including buses and trams not metro. Rossio square is busiest square, lot of restaurants around.one stop to (shopping place) and 3 stops to marque de pambles big square.Even mid night no problem to walk. Even metro is very near to hotel. From Rossio bus stop one minute walk to Hotel.
Hotel cost is cheap 20 euros per night considering centre of lisbon city. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Hop on Hop off bus stop also near to hotel, only 3 minutes walk.
Tram 28 staring point also near by 10 minutes walk or one bus stop.It is nice to travel in the tram 28, at the rhythm of another era, watching through the windows to some of the most emblematic spots of Lisbon.

hotel is very clean, and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and well equipped.
on1y disadvantages,Hotel located on 2nd floor and No lifts service.

The location is really great, near by Rossio metro and train stations. Exactly in the city center, only on a few minutes walk of "Bairro Alto", "Restauradores", etc. There are bus stops of the aerobus-es from the airport. No elevator, only narrow stairs. Great 24H reception, they give you a note with your names and room number on the registration and only the owner of that note or personal ID could enter the room afterwards. Extremely small room, not possible to pass it with even a small suitcase. Very small bathroom. Not possible to sit on the toilet, not possible to close the door when brush teeth or when wash face. The bath has had problems with the outflow. It was not possible to put the shower on the wall, it was necessary to hold it. The central position has also a bad side, it is too noisy during the night, especially if the windows and window covers are open. If you close everything it is much quiter, however much hotter. The bed was comfortable enough and the sheets looked clean. The furniture is old and the wardrobe had disgusting smell. The internet is paid. Otherwise, the personnel has cleaned the room every day and it was possible to leave the luggage for a while after check-out.

I stayed at Pensao Estacao Central for six nights in June 2012.
Though I booked in advance, no booking fee applied and all email communication with the hostel was prompt and courteous. This was confirmed during my stay; the staff are generally helpful and speak English very well. The reception is staffed 24 hours as all guests are 'buzzed in' only (you must leave your keys at reception before venturing out); so good security too. You can also purchase cheap drinks and coffee at reception. The lobby not only contains a TV, books for loan and information on Lisbon but also a computer for accessing the internet against a fee.

On the downside, the reception is located on the first floor and you have to climb quite a few stairs to reach it. Your room may then be on the second or third floor. Note that there is no lift in the building.

The location is great; very central - just off Rossio, close to all public transport including the airport bus. Below there's a health food store with a good lunch buffet catering to vegetarians/vegans and just around the corner there's a supermarket, the famous Cafe Nicola, the Ginjinha Sem Rival and the Elevador de Santa Justa, which I could even see from my bedroom window. To me, some noise from street and the odd drug dealer seemed a fair trade off for such a central spot.

The room was not very spacious and furnished in an old fashioned style, but clean and functional. There was a fan, TV and cupboard with some extra blankets. Although I am only 1.60 m, the bed felt a tad too short - so feet sticking out could definitely be an issue for taller guests. The bathroom was also clean and functional. Noticed a few some little things that could be fixed easily and would make a big difference (e.g. no plugs at all, some mould on shower curtain) but nothing major.

Overall, I was satisfied and found Pensao Estacao Central to be very decent value for money. I would happily return.

Room Tip: Ask about the length of your bed if you are taller than 1.60 m!
