Eurostars Das Letras Hotel
Ranked #68 of 253 Hotels in Lisbon
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 17 October 2011

I chose the Hotel Das Letras for its location and value (the view from my room of a full harvest moon rising over Castelo Sao Jorge was an added bonus!), and because I had previously had a very enjoyable stay at one of their Porto Hotels. If anything, the welcome I received in Lisbon was even warmer. The reception staff were able to expedite my checking into my suite a bit early, and the room itself was spotless, spacious, and above all, comfortable.

Whatever small problem I had, their staff resolved seamlessly. When my code key was demagnetized, a bellhop on the floor let me into my room, and the next time I went downstairs, there was a new key waiting for me at reception.

I will definitely strongly recommend to friends and colleagues that they stay at Das Letras during their visits to Lisbon.

Room Tip: Many rooms on higher floors may offer views of either the Alfama or the Lisbon Botanical Gardens

Excellent new hotel typical Eurostars in decor, cleanliness and friendly staff.
Didnt think it was quite 5 star compared with other Eurostar 4 star hotels, the only extra was the porter to take your bags to the room.
However the hotel was spotless and the room large and comfortable, but lacks storage space.
There are wardrobes but no drawers either in the desk or bedside tables which would be a problem if staying more than 2/3 days.
The breakfast, which was included in the rate, was very good with both a good choice of hot or cold food. The only problem with these Eurostars hotels is that they have a vast variety fruit teas but never seem to have the basic breakfast tea for us brits, a small complaint I suppose.
The staff were very efficient and friendly especially the bar which was fairly cheap for a central 5 star hotel, the reception recommended a restaurant 'Solar Dos Presuntos' in the street behind the Hard Rock cafe which was very good but always full.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the location was central and we would definitely stay again if we were in Lisbon

This is a good hotel, smallish (170 rooms)which makes it a friendly at home place to stay. Rooms are spacious with large comfy beds and tea/coffee making facilities. Bar is attractive and serves snacks and lunch and dinner menu. Reception staff, porters and bar staff could not be more helpful and happily provide restaurant ideas, bookings, maps etc. The hotel is in a quiet location up a steep hill, but there is a less steep if longer way round. Some
restaurants locally and metro and bus services.

Slippers and bathrobe provided and all the orbs usual things. Flat screen TV

Not 5* but very well recommended

Spent our first night in Portugal at Eurostars Das Letras. Good location in the center of the city, just a short 2-3 block walk to the metro. The hotel was very clean and the staff seemed reasonably friendly and efficient. The room was large enough (for a European hotel) and the beds were more comfortable (i.e. not rock hard) compared to others in which we stayed in Portugal. On Sunday's the nearest metro stop is closed, but Rossio station is walkable if you are headed out of town.

Stayed here for a few nights in Aug 2011. Comfortable rooms. Bathroom and toilet were spotless. . In room safe. Great quiet neighbourhood. Quite a number of small cafes around the corner for breakfast pies and pastries. Taxis are cheap so transport is not an issue getting around. The front desk is very helpful with helping make reservations at restaurants, calling taxis etc. 5 minutes walking distance of the main boulevard Av. da Liberdade. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed here for 5 nights for our wedding anniversary and had a lovely time. The room was spacious and very clean and the bathroom had a big walk in shower as well as a separate bath. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was good (especially the fresh criossants and pain au chocolats!). Definitely recommend staying here and would happily come back
