From the moment we arrived on our three day stay we were provided a wonderfully warm welcome by all the staff. They showed great care and consideration for my elderly mother. The rooms we got were very spacious - wheel chair accessible and clean. We did not eat there but had a few drinks at the bar. I used the small gym and sauna and they were clean and well maintained. The recommendations for restaurants provided by the hotel were all exceptional. The location is perfect, easy to get to being so central and yet quiet. We would definitely stay there again if we revisit Lisbon - which I hope we do.

Room Tip: For the wheel chair accessible rooms we got two side by side on the first floor.

Overall I would have classed this 5 star hotel as average. The staff however are truly wonderful always ready to be of assistance with a ready smile. I cannot praise them too highly especially the manager in the restaurant at breakfast time, which is the only time the restaurant is busy.

At other times the restaurant appears to be non existent with meals served at a few tables in the bar area, which lacks atmosphere due to the absence during our stay of other guests, who found the local restaurants and bars far more entertaining. Avoid eating at the bar as the costs are relatively expensive and the meals very average such that they do not represent value for money.

Having said that I would not hesitate to stay here again. The rooms are comfortable and kept scrupulously clean. Our room had a room looking over the city to the River Tegus and the Castelo de S George.

The hotel is well located being just a few minutes walk to the railway station and public squares.
The approach from the main thoroughfare is quite steep, not unusual for Lisbon.

Despite the criticisms, we did enjoy staying here and would not hesitate a revisit.

Room Tip: Choose a romantic room looking towards the castle.

We spent 4 nights in Eurostarst Das Letras in September.
Room is good and modern, bathrobes are a nice point.
Bed and pillows (mith pillow menue) are good.
Bath and shower are among the best I had in Europe.
Did not go to a restorant.
The small souna in the basement was clean, but you had to turn the heat on and wait for 20 minutes for the temperature.
Front people were helpful will any questions and requests (the only omission was the wrong direction I received to get to the supermarket. I was not on the same street as a hotel, but on the parallel street).
I agree that the slope from the hotel to the main street is really difficult, but it is easy to go around the block.
I would highly recommend that hotel if the price is right.

Room Tip: Ask for the room on high floor looking to the back. View of the City is really good

5 Stars!!! The hotel lobby is very modern warm and inviting. The staff was helpful friendly and professional. they offered valuable knowledge about the area including attractions restaurants and night life. The bell hop explain the different areas of the hotel how to reach them and relevant times for hotel events. The room was large clean and well maintained, the bath was spacious and had modern fixtures, I fell in love with the 6 head shower ( 4 adjustable + rain head + roman ). The room also had a well stocked mini bar.The hotel is located close to restaurants and downtime sites. I stay at this hotel twice in September, the 1st time room 314, the 2nd time room 814 - the view from 814 was AWESOME!!! The fastest was to Av Liberdade is a nice size hill that lead down to attractions... just something to consider... I must say, I really enjoy this hotel. I would recommend it, and I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Higher floors have nice views of the city

Got to hotel and hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Bought tickets for
Yellow Bus tour for two days. Very convenient location to see the city and easy
walk to bus tour stop. City is very hilly and hotel in good location to get around
easily. Supermarket two blocks away. Had dinner at an excellent Italian restaurant
near main square called "Valentinos". Breakfast was included with our room and was
excellent. We sat outside in the courtyard for breakfast and the waiters were very
nice and helpful. Rooms were clean and amenities plentiful. Bought tickets for tour
of city on Yellow Bus. Went to Belem and went to famous Pastry shop in Belem for
a treat and coffee. Went to see "Colombo" mall which is a must. Largest mall in Europe.
Worth the visit. A 15 minute taxi ride from hotel. Also took train ride to Sintra. Beautiful
place - worth the visit. Bought bus ticket in Sintra to see sites - Pena Palace amazing.

Room Tip: Quiet area any room would be okay.
