this hotel is in the nobel area of lisbon. most likely because it is about 5 walking minutes from the ocean promenade with fine restaurants around the praca do comercio and the shopping mile rua augusta. all kinds of seafood restaurants and fast food restaurants. souvenir shops, coffee shops, tea shop, and even a design museum...no fee.
around the corner from the hotel you can take the tram 28...again watch out for pick pocketers. the subway is also 3 minute walk from the hotel. tip take the €6,00 subway ticket per person for the day. you can get off and on as much as you want instead of taking the lisbon card. it is more expensive.
now the hotel itself. a small but fine design hotel. on their website the lobby looks bigger than what is is, but who hangs out in the lobby. but they made it cozy. the greeting was friendly and helpful. the room is what you see on their website. the hotel was built about 10 years ago and looks new and was clean. a small room but cutely designed and a super light system. the bathroom too was very nice and with a rain shower. i have nothing negative to say. the amenities were replaced everyday but bring hair conditioner with you 'cause in this hotel as opposed to the vincci in sevilla they did not give us this and the shampoo makes your hair unmanageable. ( :-) )..ladies. a beauty parlor you can find 3 minutes around the corner in a side street parallel to the rua augusta walking towards the dom pedro statue. or on the other corner from the restaurant cais das colunas, rua da victoria. very friendly ladies.
we ate in the hotel on the 24th of december and on the 31st of december and both meals were delicious. and also on other days like the caesar salad, bacalhau and more. the waiter luis bernadino is a top waiter, attentative, cordial what one wishes to experience from other waiters. in addition not to exclude that the rest of the restaurant team was top, too!
in lisbon it is sometimes a little difficult to communicate with the people in the restaurants or by shopping although i speak english, spanish and german. the majority only speaks their own language. otherwise a great place to visit with a lot of museums and palaces to see.
all in all a very pleasant stay and a very recommandable hotel.
