We stayed here on a city break and chose the hotel because of its central location at the southern end of the city below the main shopping areas and in the commercial district. It's not been open all that long and has a good contemporary feel to it - i.e. no chintzy stuff or floral designs. Just a good blend of complementary colours with nice design touches - for example, the good range of adjustable lighting options in the bedroom, all at the touch of a button.

The rooms are not particularly spacious but they are big enough for two with large, very comfortable beds and different options available for pillows. If you arrive with masses of clothes, you'll be pushed to find hanging and storage space - three hangers in the 'wardrobe' which was more like a cupboard. Our room had a rain shower rather than a bath, but this was fine and everything worked as it should. No noise intrusion from the street which was busy by day but quiet at night.

The breakfast was excellent. You would be hard pushed not to find something that would suit you whether it were hot or cold. Other than the usual services such as booking restaurants for you, the hotel had no communal lounge areas or, given its location, leisure facilities or access to the roof for the view. That said, we were there to sightsee and so this was not a disadvantage at all.

Transport is in adjacent streets - tram 28 to the Cathedral and Castle to the east and tram 15 to Belem in the west. The latter is a 'must see' visit - take a day for it.. Buy the Lisboa card if you want to travel and sightsee as it'll save you money in the long run.

Another bonus for Lisbon is an airport that's close - a metered taxi transfer will cost you about 15-20 Euros.

A very modern hotel, but too minimalist......For a 4* hotel, the beds should be better, the rooms should be bigger , and the closets should have some space (they almost don't exist!!). Beside that, they dont have a garage or a vallet service. You will be oriented to walk about five blocks to let your car in a public parking space....But the rooms are quiet, the bathrooms are very good, and the staff is kind and helpful.

The first Lisbon hotel we stayed in was the Vincci Baixa. I don't think it is well-known in the guidebooks because I discovered it by chance on the Internet. It is beautiful and the service was impeccable, with many informative emails sent back and forth to me even before I booked our reservation! Would highly recommend it, and it is not prohibitively expensive (the US dollar being abysmally low) . My adult daughter and I both liked the location. Can't figure out why the solitary "disappointed" reviewer didn't like the Baixa location. Also, the photos "disappointed" posted are nothing like the ones we took, nor is the room! And, having just arrived in Lisbon it was so helpful to have the front desk guide us so much. This is an excellent choice for not only the accommodations but for truly informative guidance to Lisbon's many attractive sites!

I stayed at the Vincci Baixa for a conference. As a solo business traveler, the hotel could not have been a better choice. The location was perfect - very near public transportation and interesting parts of the city which I could easily explore during my free time. The hotel is extremely service oriented. Free wifi and a delicious and varied room service menu are great plusses for the business traveler.

The rooms are quite small - not atypical for a European hotel in the older part of the city. The design is very sleek and modern - but perhaps a bit much so. Many of the walls are completely covered with mirrors - in an effort to make the room appear larger no doubt, but result is somewhat disorienting. The first day I had trouble finding the door to the bathroom! Similarly, the sleek modern design, while looking nice, could benefit from some softening touches. With no carpets on the floors, the room can be a bit noisy. I had a room on the top floor, and the closets were inset into the dormers, and so were only half height. However, there are other touches that are exceptional. The lighting can be configured to many different "moods" which made the room very comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were extremely clean and of a higher quality than typically found in most hotels.

But the best feature of this hotel was the outstanding personal service. The staff was very attentive and helpful. After a couple of days, they knew my breakfast preferences. Room service was extremely quick, and the food was outstanding. The staff was similarly very helpful in recommending places to go out for meals, or for how to navigate around the city. If you don't have a computer, they will lend you a mini-laptop to check your email while sitting in the comfortable lobby areas.

I would definitely stay here again - for business or for pleasure.

This is the perfect choice if you're looking for a great hotel in Lisbon! The location is great (about 5min walking distance to Rossio, the main square), the perfect place to start your sightseeing trip. It's clean, new, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms' design is great, the rooms are not extremely large, but more than sufficient. Bathroom is clean and everything's new. We did not hear any noise from other rooms or the streets.
The only thing I cannot rate is the breakfast - we didn't have breakfast there, as EUR 14,- seemed too expensive and enjoyed our breakfast in one of the many cafes of the city. BUT: You should really have dinner once in the hotel restaurant - great!
It's simply the perfect choice with a good price-value-ratio!! Go there!!

I chose the Vincci Baixa after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. Pretty much everything that is said below is true. The rooms are beautifully designed in a contemporary style--it looks like something that would be done by Candice Olson from "Divine Design." The location was in the Baixa neighborhood, which was great and convenient to the streetcars, subway, and train. The Praca Comercio was under renovation when I was there but there wasn't any noise and it's only a couple blocks from Rua Augusta, the main pedestrian street. The room is very narrow--two people cannot walk in front of the bed at the same time! And there is virtually no closet space, so we didn't unpack our suitcases. All of this was expected so I was not upset or surprised. Overall it was a great little boutique hotel that I'd recommend.
