“Very good base”
Reviewed 17 June 2012 via mobile

The Turim Alameda is a bit away from the centre, there is no getting away from metro trips in and out, but the station is near albeit a bit of a slope! And with trains so frequent it isn't a problem. Nearby cafes sorted breakfast and there is a (hidden) supermarket on the side road left of the metro which is handy for drinks etc. rooms are well air conditioned and a good size, bed wasn't perfect as a bit soft but after days negotiating Lisbons gradients we still slept! Overall a good base for exploring a lovely city

Good hotel in a safe area not in the centre but you would want some peace and quite would you?
Rooms are not very large but are clean with a marble cladded bathroom, sufficient to rest after long day sightseeing. Free Wifi.
Breakfast was plenty and yes strange at first the vending machine like for coffee and juices.... But keeps it clean and you don 't have to wait for staff to take order...They even have waffles! My italian husband and I prefer espresso in the morning... We just ordered it on top... For 1.50€ a pop only..

Some nice places to eat:
Ramiro an institution.... Even locals queue to get to eat their super fresh seafood don't get done in the centre in one of these tourist traps...avenida amirante Reis ,1 metro Intendente. not cheap but to try... No need to dress up it s low key and you don 't want to spoil you best dress...
Bellalisa italian place with a vue at the top of the santa Justa lift.. Try the Cartuxa white wine for 18 € a bottle.
Sacramento in Chiado...great trendy place..good food and cocktails 3 courses a la carte dinner for two with a glass of wine and water for 61€.
Mojito at 7.5€ with plenty of rum ...that kept me off the wine for the evening...hips
Overall Lisbon is very reasonably priced.

Agree with all tips from Grth form Ireland.
The Viva viagem travel card is great and good value, just be aware that you cannot pay for it with a foreign credit card at the automated machines cash only.

We took the usual tram 28E (E for eletricos or trams) down from the castle and 15E to Belem to see the monastry and the Pasteleria de Belem delicious pasteis to taste or take away.
We took cab on the way back to airport cost 8.20 euros for two with 2 bags, took 10 min!
Goods selection of duty free shops once you have gone through security if you don t have time to buy wine cheese or designer sunglasses beforehand.

As a whole Lisbon is a great place, elegant, serene, great value for money.
Not affected at all...

Yes we would go back without hesitation.

Room Tip: We had the 401 with view on the city, although not exciting very calm..

We stayed at the Turim Alameda for three nights while on a weekend break in Lisbon. We loved the modern, clean rooms with the laminate floors instead of carpet- much more hygenic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although it is a little way from the centre the Metro is close by and it is very easy to get around. We weren't so impressed with the hotel breakfast and ate at a local cafe near the Metro after the first morning. The hotel is also conveniently near the airport, so taxi fares are very reasonable. Glad we stayed there.

Room Tip: I imagine all the rooms were good

I've stayed in this hotel for about 10 days. The staff was very friendly, the room was nice and clean. I liked the fact that they have laminate floors instead of carpet. The hotel is close to the airport (about 7 Euros by taxi), you can also get a bus and you will take about 8 min to get to the hotel. It is close by the subway, then you can go anywhere you want.

We stayed in Turim Alameda Hotel in Lisbon for a total of 3 nights. 1 night for our lay over before heading to the Acores and 2 additional night heading back to New York.

The hotel is about 15 minutes or less (driving) from the airport. It is public transportation accessible via the subway/underground. The hotel is located on a one way street but is about 1-2 minutes walking distant from Oriente stop of their subway system.

It is a small hotel (only 6 floors) but the rooms are very clean and quite big considering other hotels we've stayed at in Lisbon. The service staff are friendly with probably exception to one person during the day.

The hotel room comes with two single bed put together to make it a king size bed. The bathroom is spotless clean and the room is also very clean. They have a built in speak with your choice of music and a small flat screen television with basic cable channels.

Breakfast is included and they have a 50% off price on alcohol between 6-8pm everyday. The bartender is quite pleasant and wants to make sure that his mixture is just right. Food is ok considering it comes with your stay.

Service staff at the restaurant are very pleasant and courteous. The reception desk is also very helpful and friendly.

The only downfall is that this hotel is far from the downtown area but with the subway close by it is not a bad hotel to stay in. If you are heading to Lisbon for a short time frame this would be an ideal hotel to go to.

I will definitely go back to this hotel in the future.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We chose it because of the good price, free wifi and okey location. The hotel is nice and clean and quiet. The rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast buffet is not the best one I have seen but for this price it was very good. Location is quite good, takes just 5 minutes to walk from Alameda metro station. From there it´s only a short ride to the center. We read reviews about going to the Saldanha metro station instead bit I don´t recommend this. We tried this abour 3-4 times and it was very difficult to find the hotel from there. It was hard to find what direction to walk in. From Alameda station it was much easier, just walk up the hill on the left side of the small "park" and keep to the left, and the hotel is easy to see on the street. I can recommend this hotel. Although, the happy hour in the bar is not so nice. The drinks are very small and the bartender usually working in the bar is not so nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room high up
