Be warned, there is extensive building work going on in adjoining building which starts at 8am and goes all day until 6. It’s like a building site and the drilling noise is unbearable. Notified the Feels Like Home Office who basically said there was nothing they could do as they did not know about the work. This apartment should not be let wgike these works are going on. Not much of a holiday been woken up to the noise of a drill at 8 am! Also, this apartment has almost 90 steps to access it - they do not warn you of this. My 70 year old mother found this difficult and my daughter who has asthma: The apartment itself is ok; smells a bit but ok. Overall very disappointing and service from Feels at Home staff is non existent,
I booked this apartment for three couples and we stayed a total of five nights. The location is great - close to many restaurants and shops, attractions, and the metro.
We arrived from Porto by train and were picked up by a rep from "Feels Like Home" who transported us to the apartment as it was after check-in time (were charged 34 Euros for this service). We were not informed in advance that the elevator was out of service...not a big problem for us (other than carrying our suitcases up all those stairs!) but it could have been a problem for someone with mobility issues.
The unit had not yet been cleaned so we left our luggage there and headed out to give them time to clean. We asked about having another key as there were six of us and the rep said we could get one at the "Feels Like Home" office, a short walk away. We walked to the office and the person there said the cleaners had the only other key and to come back later and that they were open until 11:00 pm.
We went back to the office at 8:50 pm that same night and found it closed. The next day we went to pick up the extra key and were informed that they could not give us a key as it was not their policy to do so. It would have been nice to know this at check-in so that we wouldn't have wasted so much time on this.
The apartment itself was well furnished and very spacious. Each couple appreciated having their own bathroom and shower off their bedroom. The clothes washer and dryer worked well, as did the Internet and air conditioning. Strangely there was only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom and one hand towel and one bath towel per person for five days, and only one dish cloth and one tea towel. Also there were deodorizers and scented diffusers all over the apartment so quite a strong smell.
There was a Nespresso coffee maker and it took us a while to find the Nespresso coffee pods. There is a Nespresso shop within walking distance as the grocery stores do not sell the ones for the Nespresso maker. It would have been helpful if "Feel Like Home" had told us that.
Despite these minor inconveniences, the apartment worked well for us and the location was perfect.
