The staff were just amazing, great service, I could see an amazing team spirit, but what amazed me more was the excellent quality that the restaurant Feitoria can provide. Great employees, outstanding food, excellent choice of wines. Just perfect!! A place to visit and re-visit.

Stayed for 4 days recently stayed in room 127 which had a great river view, the hotel is in a fantastic location within the historical area of Belem a courtesy bus takes you to the centre of Lisbon therefore a car is not a necessity. rooms were great, spa was excellent, breakfast was good and staff were excellent i'd certainly love to go back there.

We booked this hotel as it was more convenient with a hire car than staying in Central Lisbon and we were glad we did. Not only were we close to the sights in Belem (which we wouldn't have seen if we stayed in central Lisbon), but the hotel itself was a peaceful break to our visits to downtown Lisbon. The facilities are fantastic, and it is tempting not to leave the hotel just to enjoy the pools and bar by the water.

The rooms are spacious (we stayed in a Deluxe room) with plenty of room to relax and comfortable beds (I got a great night's sleep). The only comment to note with the room is that it is very modern, with clear glass walls in the bathroom. This means no privacy and turning the light on in the bathroom means the whole room lights up.

The breakfast was worth looking forward to - and one of the best breakfast buffets I have had for a long time. All in all, I would happily return to this hotel on my next trip to Lisbon.

Room Tip: Just be aware of the lack of privacy with the clear glass windows in the bathroom.

We initially came to use the spa and pool. Staff were just so helpful, from drink and food service to treatments. Then they even helped with booking a yacht for the next day. Lovely hotel. Amazing staff. Would def stay here if I returned to Lisbon

Unfortunately we only stayed for one night at the end of a few days in Lisbon but being in the Altis Belem was the highlight of our visit.

The hotel: We booked a balcony club room and the reservation confirmation came back saying 'garden view' so I was a bit concerned we would not see the water. I needn't have worried - from what I could tell the hotel is designed so that all the rooms have spectacular views (with plenty of water!). The room was large, beautiful and very comfortable. The hotel bar is just by the river and shaded, with chaise longues and a chill out atmosphere. We had lunch on the terrace of the 'cafe' facing the Marina and, apart from the perfect setting, it was the best meal we had in Lisbon. We didn't go to the Michelin star restaurant but, judging by the food in the cafe, it must be amazing. Breakfast was delicious, plenty of variety and good quality.

The staff: Everyone we came into contact with was delightful, from the reception staff to the bar and cafe staff. The impression they gave was that they knew they had a great hotel and wanted you to enjoy it. We arrived early and they let us check in after only a 10 minute wait. We were upgraded so that we had a jacuzzi on our balcony, which was a lovely surprise. We had booked a transfer back to the airport through the hotel, which was a nice, luxurious way to travel and we asked if we could check out an hour later to coincide with our transfer - no problem. Obviously you can't count on these extras, especially if a hotel is very busy, but you could feel the willingness was there always to please.

The area: Belem is a 10-15 minute taxi ride from central Lisbon. This is why we decided to stay in the centre for the first few days of our visit. In hindsight I wish we had stayed in Belem the whole time. As we were scheduled to stay at the Altis Belem on a Monday and most museums etc. seem to be closed on Mondays, we visited the area previously on the tourist bus. There is plenty to see, infact some of the most important sights, and there is a nice area of restaurants near the park, as well as places on the waterfront for eating and drinking. The hotel run a free shuttle into central Lisbon as well as to the airport and even in the evening/night it is easy to get back to by taxi for those who want to go out in some of the famous areas like the Bairro Alto or Alfama district.

Lisbon was lovely but we went there in the middle of a heatwave and it was hard to sightsee all day. I would like to return but would definitely stay at the Altis Belem rather than in the centre of town. It is close enought to all the sights but is also a very relaxing place to be.

The Altis Belem is a great find. I booked through a British Airways flight + hotel offer and the rate was comparable to others of a similar quality. But I am so glad I chose it and would now not stay anywhe else in Lisbon. It is a couple of miles outside the city centre but with easy, cheap transport links on its doorstep you get the best of both worlds. Just a ten minute tram or bus or taxi ride plants you right in the middle of the city. Being inBelem you also have several major attractions right outside, the tower, monument, monastery, cake shops, parks and a long, long river front promenade.
The hotel is next to the road and railway line, but these barely register, especially as the rooms are so well insulated for sound. We slept peacefully without the need for earplugs, which we usually have to use in other city hotels around the world.
The rooms at the Hotel are huge and funky. The lovely Armindo Luiz checked us in and was kind enough to show us a selection of rooms, each with a different theme and decor; all tasteful, and all luxurious with huge beds, generous seating areas and bathrooms. I honestly dont think there is a 'bad' room in the place. The way the hotel is situated all views are interesting and pleasant.
The restaurants at the hotel are also great, one holding a Michelin star. Even the regular restaurant had a great dinner menu with beautiful food.
We had an inclusive breakfast rate, and made full use of the delicious buffet, with eveything from hot choices, to cheeses, pastries, cereal and fruit, and quite possibly the most delicious orange juice we have ever tasted. Added bonus is that it is available until 11am; no having to leap out of bed early on holiday to catch the remnants before 9am!
All in all a lovely, small hotel, quiet, relaxing, fabulous staff, lovely decor, great food. Will definitely come again.

The hotel is a proper five star hotel and comes with the service and extras you would expect. But it stands out because of the size of the rooms, the design of the rooms and the hotel and because of its location. On the river with a view over the harbour, it works whether the weather is fantastic or only cloudy -as it was on our visit. Great to visit Lisbon without being confined by the restrictions of the city centre. As a little bonus there's a number of must do's around the corner. Secret tip: the electricity museum just down the road!
