“Bon, Bon, Bon in Lisbon”
Reviewed 12 September 2013

Directed here by the review in the Berlitz guide book. Even went so far as to not look through the menu in any great detail & plumped for the seafood rice dish (for 2) as recommended by the Berlitz reviewer. Our waiter had an engaging disposition, a good sense of humour, and was attentive to our needs throughout the night, even when things got noticeably busier. The surroundings were superb, the vibe good, and the food of a very high standard. We also had a large beer, 1/2 bottle Mateus, the couvert, 1 x starter, 2 x pudims (highly recommended) and the bill barely came to 60 euros.
Returned on our last night where we substituted the desserts for a bottle of sparkling wine, but the bill was again only around 60 euros. Absolutely fantastic value given the standard of fare on offer, and this was the foody highlight of our visit to Lisbon.

“Seafood Platter Heaven”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

We ordered seafood platter for a friends birthday dinner. It consist of lobster, crab, oysters, prawn, mussel, crabmeat .It says on the menu, good for two but it is more than enough for 3 hungry ladies. We paid 54 euro which is cheap compared to what we would have paid in London. Live music with a portuguese singer.Staff are friendly and accommodating.Good atmosphere and decor.

my apartment in lisbon was only 100m away from this restaurant and every time i went back home from the town i walked by this restaurant. you can easily the crabs the lobsters and a lot of fishes just waiting to be cooked.

so i decided to try this restaurants after reading the reviews. after we found a table outside, inside all the tables were reserved or occupied, we were presented the menus. for fish and seafood lovers this will be the hardest part because it's hard to choose omething, everything sound great.

i will not describe everything, i will just tell you that the food is almost perfect, my sapateiro was a 5 star dish and all the others at my table enjoyed their food, from what i understood the dorada had a little to much oil (it was grilled and they have put olive oil on it). prices are ok for what you get, 25E for the sapateira it's not much, also the lobster is 25E for 400 grams which is a low price, normally the price is around 90E for 1 kg. also the sea food plateau for 2 was around 52-54E didn't see it though. they also serve a lot of kinds of meat prices starting from around 10-11E

the service was impeccable there is nothing i could criticize. i have also been inside the restaurant and it really looks like the perfect place for dinner, very nice decor.

for sure next time i'll be in lisbon i will come to this place again. for me this place was excellent

“Surprised at what we found at Restaurantes Leao d' Ouro Bar”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

The next time you are in Lisbon, try the bar for Restaurantes Leao d' Ouro for dinner. We were there in July and because we eat on American time, the restaurant sent us to their "bar" for dinner. The Portuguese do not dine at 6:00! We shared a grilled grouper steak that was amazing. Along with it, they served greens and potatoes that were just as amazing. In addition to a wonderful dinner, the manager has had an interesting life and was a pleasure to get to know. I really enjoy small restaurants, so having only five tables was another plus for me.

One side note, the main dining room of Restaurantes Leao do' Ouro is beautiful with its blue and white tiles. Although we did not eat there due to our timing, we plan to go back. I believe it has been in business for over 100 years and the menu was very enticing.

“Good food and suroundings”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

Had a very nice dinner with friends in April. The restaurant is very inviting and all 4 of us enjoyed the meal. Food was very good but not great and we came away well satisfied. Overall we enjoyed the experience.
