Got a great 'winter' rate on their own website
Couldnt really fault this hotel, it appeared to be either new or newly renovated. We took a hire car and were afraid ti would be a nightmare to find, in fact its on the main road from the airport into town, 5 km from airport.
We opted for a slight smaller room but it had a balcony and great view over the city(room 602). We pulled up outide the hotel and they told us where to park.
If i was going again;
Might be temped to splurge on the suite which if i understood right is only 10€ per night extra and has a great view over the river and city.
Would consider their 'Tour Package' which gives you tickets on the old fashioned trams (route 28 is only about 200 m from the hotel).
Eat in restaurants in Barro Alto if you want atmosphere (try Artis) about 20 minutes walk. Just down the road is apparently a famous seafood restaurant made famous by Anthony Bourdain. We will try it next time, packed everytime we walked past.More
