This hotel is near the center so not very high, the top floor is only the 5th. They built floors underneath to compensate (the spa is at -4 level). But you still have a nice view from the terrace on the rooftop. The pool is small and very hot, so it must be nicer in the winter. I found the design very nice and modern, though the bathroom setting is a bit strange. At 90€ it was a real bargain but the normal price is higher.

Room was small. I booked a double with 2 beds. Arrived to be given a double bed in a small room. For 2 guys ;((

Tv could not be heard with the AC on or the windows open. Bed had a plastic sheet that stuck to your body and made it too hot and sweaty.

I stayed in the CS Vintage for three nights in June 2012. The trip was for business and so I did not pay and do not even know the cost. The desk clerk mentioned that a night usually goes for 120 to 180 euro. And so I cannot comment on value. The hotel was beautiful, with extremely helpful staff, immaculate rooms, and a lovely rooftop bar with a beautiful view. Breakfast was very good although with limited options for those who cannot eat gluten. The room was spacious and full of light with a pleasant view. The location was within very easy walking distance of the Avenida Liberdade (sp?), the main street, the Metro, and the tram. I would suggest bringing your own map of Lisbon because the typical tourist map given out at hotels is not really adequate. The bed was extremely comfortable and afforded one of the better nights sleep I had in Europe this spring.

We spent 5 nights at the CS Vincent in Lisbon in March. This is an excellent hotel but I'm not sure its a true 5 star.

The room was open plan into the bathroom area. The toilet did have a door, as did the large shower, and steam in the room could be a problem if you didn't close the shower door as soon as you came out of it. The room was very clean, lovely white cotton bed linen, slippers and bath robes provided, abundant soft towels and toiletries. The mattress cover was the real downside as it was plastic and made us very sweaty. Can't imagine what it would be like in the summer. It also made a lot of noise when you rolled over! No coffee or tea making facilities in the room. Flat screen TV and air conditioning. We had a room at the back of the hotel which was very quiet with a fabulous view across to the Castle.

One thing we were impressed with at this hotel was that they ask guests to be quiet after 10pm and before 8am to consider guests who are light sleepers.

The hotel staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and there was always someone available to help and advise.

The breakfasts were wonderful. A large selection of fresh fruits, cereals, meats, cheeses, smoked salmon, breads, pastries, yogurts as well as a hot buffet of eggs, bacon, sausages etc. There was plenty of lovely freshly squeezed orange juice. The coffee could have been hotter but if you like a real wake up drink the Portuguese double brewed coffee sets you up for the day.

The location of the hotel for us was great but we're big walkers and the hill back up to it didn't faze us. However, beware if you're less fit or have young children. In fact we didn't see any children in this hotel at all. The spa is very small and luckily we were the only two people in it every time we used it. More than 3 people in the pool would be a crowd. Its not designed for swimming but has an aqua flow which you swim against. Also watch out for the low brick walls which have been built underneath the water - they have very sharp edges and I caught my foot on one which was painful.

We had one meal in the evening at the hotel which was very good. Again, there was a downside when we discovered that smoking is allowed in the bar area where we were eating. We were very disappointed about this as the whole area is open plan.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone not minding a bit of a walk into the centre. To give you a rough idea, it takes about 15 minutes to walk to Rossio Station from the hotel and 30 to 40 minutes to Praca do Comercio down on the waterfront.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel, with a view of the Castle
