The front desk staff was very nice and tried to be helpful but most of their English was not great and I was given some misinformation regarding trains and if I didn't look in to it myself I likely would have been at the wrong train station. The spa was nice but one of the Jacuzzi options did not work and no one on staff even tested it for several days. One other Jacuzzi option they said worked but it did nothing. Some of the motion lights by the showers were also not working. The breakfast was good but the service was not. The eggs are very runny. I had dinner there only one time and for a simple order it got screwed up and took an extremely long time to get it. They did offer me a free glass of wine. After dinner, no one came with the check so I had to go to the bar to ask for it. The rooms were okay. My first room was very big and nice and when I came back several days later I was given a tiny room. The faucets at this hotel are awful and the hot water is scalding.

Room Tip: My first few nights I had a large room with an extra sitting room on the top floor. I went to Porto...

For our first holiday in Lissabon, we decided to choose this hotel with very uncommon design room combining, as the city does, new and "vintage" sides!
Though it´s a five star hotel, we could enjoy a familiar atmosphere and really feel like home: excellent restaurant with delightful meals, professional and competent staff never forgetting to welcome you with a friendly smile and give you all the advices you need, superbe spa with every sort of relaxing treatments....
Thank you Patricia for the superbe "Hot Stone Massage", Thank you André for speaking German, Thank you Joao for the wine suggestion, Thank you Chef for surprising us every evening with new gourmets, Thank you Director for letting us taste the "porco preto", Thanks to the nice waitress and to the waiter preparing our Breakfast-Packet, thanks to the reception for the courtesy and for the help with the luggage.
We can only recommend this hotel and we will certainly come back the next time we are in Lissabon... If you want to enjoy some nice day sourrounded by an elegant atmosphere and feel pampered ...then you are at the right place! The staff will certainly do its best to make your dreams come true... as it did with us.
Greetings from Germay to all of you.... Sara and Michael Tamm

Love this hotel .
The staff was very nice & discret . Anna Sophia remeber to make me an expresso for my breakfast , Senora Pimenta & the waitress who serves the romantic meal or the one who bring us the champagne in the room ... I don't remember the name of the other but the all staff was nice
The room is well decorated
I choose this hotel for the Spa and was realy impressed , the place is quite big and offer you jacuzzi , sauna , hamman and a swiming pool .
The breakfast is very good and the romantic meal that i have in my package was delicious .
I invited a friend , who celebrated is 25 years and she enjoyed her stay.
I hope to be back again with a good deal .

Room Tip: The norma price is expensive ( for me ) But if you find a good deal , i advice you to book .

As this hotel, across the road from ours, had its restaurant menu on the wall outside and we were passing, we had a look and liked the sound of the food and the prices, so we decided to try it. We ate there the rest of the week (4 occasions). We had the room to ourselves apart from the last night (the Friday), which we quite like, although I know some people wouldn’t as they prefer an atmosphere. The meals varied between good to excellent. Although we were disappointed with the wait for our meal on the Friday, especially as there were only four tables occupied, but I think there may have been another restaurant somewhere else in the hotel, which might explain it. The waiting staff were very well trained too and one of the waiters was really friendly but still professional too.

Overall, a most pleasant hotel at a good price, though not quite 5*. The road up from Avenida is steep, so we were glad we chose a taxi in preference to our usual use of public transport. Rato station is slightly nearer (10 mins.) with a less steep hill. It is in a quiet business area, rather than touristic.
The breakfasts (included in our package) were excellent in variety and quantity, particularly as this is not a large hotel. I was pleased to see skimmed milk was available on request. Getting it was another matter, which took 1/2 hour on one morning! Provision of hot water for tea was via a kettle on the buffet and, when replenished, was cold requiring the customer to 'brew up'!
On the 1st evening we enjoyed the quiet bar, but subsequently saw that smoking was permitted, apparently in contravention of Portuguese law 37/2007. There was no non-smoking bar, so didn't return.
Our room was spacious, with the quirky bathroom described by others. Ours had little space beside the sink, unlike some of the photos shown above. The décor is not generally standing up to wear and tear, and style seems to have been placed above performance and practicality. Lighting is dull and the air-con was not very responsive. Storage is limited and the wardrobe rails very high.
The spa on floor -4 (yes, that's 'minus') and gloomy. The small pool is full of hazards, with underwater brick walls! During our stay, a group of 5 young children played noisily, unsupervised by adults, which left us feeling very uncomfortable.
Despite these negatives, our stay was enjoyable. What made this hotel was the staff. Everyone was friendly and keen to please. Cleaning was impeccable.

This hotel was just great. We had been cycling in Evora and wanted to spend a few days exploring Lisbon. We had been staying at a farm and wanted to be a bit pampered. This hotel was rated as 5 star and earned its designation. There was a beautiful terrace overlooking the city with a bar, a wonderful breakfast included in the 93 euro per night price, spacious rooms with modern facilities, and a staff eager to be of assistance.

The hotel was a steep walk up from the main street of the city but a short walk away there were some excellent restaurants and 2 metro stops for those not wanting to walk. There was a spa, a small pool that we did not use but was available.

We found this to be a delightful place to stay and offered a romantic ambiance. Enjoy.

A very modern Hotel with excellent facilities and a good location (although Lisbon is renowned for steep streets and pavements). Staff are very helpful and friendly.

In some ways the modern style decor can be less than "user friendly" the bathroom for instance is not very practical or private. The sink is a very elegant stainless steel item which in combination wirth the taps will cover the floor with water given half a chance! A very nice touch in the bedroom was the ipod docking unit which also offerred a USB port.

The spa doesn't really do duty as a swimming pool (it is very small) and is not attended.

Breakfast food was not particularly good but the experience was lifted by the attentiveness of the staff who were excellent.

In fact it was the staff throughout the hotel who made the stay pleasant.
