These were the utterings from the better half''s mouth as I dragged her up a graffiti ridden semi dark alley, just around the corner from Hotel Brittania (vg)
To put this in perspective her last meal was at Vinum in Porto overlooking the Douro, a world class restaurant. I think she could get used to that level of fine dining unfortunately. Time to bring her back to earth.
The restaurant is unimposing, cheap tables with the football on the tv and a few locals watching. I was getting nervous, had TA let me down?
NO WAY! This has to be the best cheap eats we have had in years. For 42 euro we had a really good octopus salad followed by baked chicken (very good) as was the grilled bream and brocoli. A half bottle of white and one of red as well. i do not know how they can do it at these prices. The restaurant started to fill up around 8.30 with a large group of tourists who had eaten here a few nights before - enough said.
The waiter was very helpful both with food - what was fresh with the fish - and the wine.
