Description: On off the least pretentious of Lisbon's Fado restaurants is also one of its finest. Hosts Duarte Santos and Ana Marina treat guests as family and the homely ambiance is warming and inviting. The homemade gastronomy is noted for its textures and flavours and generous portions, with the seafood cataplana (stew) a much-lauded feast. The menu is limited, but here it's all about the quality of the food. As for the entertainment, this is local fado at its most authentic -- the singers and musicians have known each other for years, and the performance is heartfelt and genuine. Quite often, diners are invited to join in which makes the evening truly memorable.

Love Fado, but l like to go to Fado and eat well, something that is difficult to combine the fado houses in Lisbon. Good fado and good food at reasonable prices is one thing that is not easy to find. After visiting several houses of fado, finally found on that satisfied me in every way! Sr. Fado in Alfama! Great food, either in cooking or in amount which is more than we can expect. Excellent and great Fado familiar and homey atmosphere. I went back the second time and will not be the last, because l feel at home here, and l can not understand how anyone can enroll, for the sole purpose of harming this couple as hardworking and struggling for live and customs. May God keep you , Marina and Duarte, for what they do for your culture and that God will give them strength to continue

The food is good, Fado is amazing. The restaurant is family-run, small and intimate. The owner will come by the table to ask where are you from, how do you like to food and generally make you feel very welcome.

After we had a three course dinner (great food and very nice wine that the owner himself produces), the Fado show began. The owner told us about the Fado roots in between the songs.
The main singer was his lovely life, who earlier prepared dinner for all of us. All in all, we listened to Fado for more than two hours. The owner and his wife led the show, but were joined by numerous others. We loved the older lady with the strong voice the best :)

After midnight, the guests started leaving, but the Fado continued until there were only us and one other couple left. What a hospitality they showed!

This was indeed one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal. Fantastic :)

This place is amazing! The husband and wife who cook, serve, and make the musical magic happen, are first rate artists in every way. They made people from at least eight different countries feel like a family in an intimate environment. Their friends who showed up to help entertain just made the experience that much more cozy and exciting. The food is incredible and the serving size in wine as well as food is beyond what you could ever desire. The truth is, my new husband and I were wildly passionate after this magical experience. Thank you so much Mr. Fado!

This place is an experience. More than a restaurant. More than the touristy, sad and tired fado bars which haunt the Alfama. This place is part Portuguese living room, kitchen and front porch all rolled into a down-to-Earth setting which is compelling, loving and moving all at once. Enjoyed the hearty, all-you-can seafood stew. Original tastes - especially for this novice Portuguese food lover. The show is a mix of the business owners (husband and wife) along with their daughter Nadia (a finalist on the Portugal version of The Voice) and some family friends. Really beautiful evening of song and friendship. We paid €45 per person.... Worth it because this is a true experience. All you can eat... All the wine and beer you can drink and hours of Fado. And a reservation is a must during tourist season. Only 10 tables.
