What a find! Even though the weather wasn't on its best behaviour, we had an amazing time in Lisbon - mostly thanks to the great staff at The HOUSE. The roof terrace is amazing, so beautiful in all weathers, day or night. When it was raining outside we snuggled under blankets with a glass of wine watching the lights of lisbon. Ana was truely amazing, running out in the rain to get a corckscrew(!) and helping us get back into our room when locked ourselves out one evening. She's a natural hostess and easily makes you feel at home. We were given great ideas for daytrips and places to eat and see. We particularly liked heading over in the ferry to a little tucked away restaurant we NEVER would have found without the help of The HOUSE and they did everything to make our day as smooth as possible from writing down which buses to get from where to ringing ahead to check places were open. Needless to say the breakfast was delicious and the room very comfortable. We really feel we have found the very best place to stay in Lisbon and would definatly like to stay there again.

Dear Claire,

Thank you so much for your enthusiastic review from TheHOUSE.
Ana is a recent addition to our staff and its very nice too see that, from the start she has fitted into the team seamlessly.

I’m glad that all the tips and suggestions were helpful and helped you make the most out of your Lisbon stay. Hope I’ll be around more next time.

All the best from Ana and myself to both, you and your mother

we stayed at the House for a week, excellent place, and the view of Lisbon at the terrace, no words can describe, simple magnificent, from Castelo S. Jorge to statue of Cristo Rei and Ponte de 25 de Abril, not talking the Tagus river itself. The breakfast excellent, the accommodation out of a question very comfortable. The way the place is presented, well renovated with the antiques touch. Close to public transport, specially the famous no. 28 tram that takes you to the heart of Lisbon, Praca da Figueira adjacent to Rossio. Also close to the basilica da Estrela and Jardim da Estrela, another landmark of Lisbon. My family enjoyed our stay in The house. We stayed at "Nanny's room" nice and private for a family of three. I recommend "The House" to everyone to stay in Lisbon, and great and friendly staff, very supportive, and always whiling to help. Thanks and we will be back.

Room Tip: For us "Nanny's Room" will be the go, very independent and nice windows viewing, you c...

You know the old saying about location? The House is located in a lovely Lisbon neighborhood, close to shopping, transportation, restaurants, and the staff will assist you In every possible way. My husband and I spent our first four days in Lisbon at this charming B&B and enjoyed every moment. Estrella Basilica is one block away, which is also a hub for various buses and trams. The Metro is within easy walking distance and you can buy passes!
We stayed in the Dressing Room, which had its own little enclosed balcony that looked out over the red tiled rooftops of Lisbon. Smallish room, but very comfortable, nice private bathroom, complete with terry cloth robes.
Breakfast was very nicely done, with fresh juice, pastries, yogurt, fruits, meat, and cheeses. American breakfast available on request; we didn't partake as everything else was wonderful!
You will not regret booking a room at The House!! And that rooftop view??? Simply incredible!

We stayed at The House for three days on our honeymoon. It's a great place with very friendly staff, clean rooms and amazing views over the city. Our favourite feature was the honesty bar on the top floor where you can help yourself to drinks and a snack while enjoying the view over Lisbon. In fact we liked the place so much we even bought one of the paintings off the wall!

This tion is the place to stay at when in Lisbon! Beautifully renovated penthouse on top of Lisbon with a more than magnificent view, great terasse and lovely rooms. The personnel makes you feel at home and are more than willing to go "the extra mile" for your comfort. I can truly recommend this place and will be staying there again at my next trip. Good location withh the Bastille as your neighbor, the electric tram very close by and quite easy to get to even with a car.

The House will exceed your expectations!! You'll get much more than you've payed for, as you'll get the best existing overview over the amazing Lisbon. I've been in Lisbon some times. I will certainly go again but not having to worry about hotel search though. I will just email Francisco Carvalho, the charming hotel manager and owner, and book a room.

Thank you Francisco, thank you The House, Thank you Lisbon for existing!!

Stayed one night in this great intimate B&B. It is not actually a house, but on the fourth floor in an apartment building. Access through a tiny elevator. The lobby/livingroom area was large and nicely decorated. Our room was spacious and had a separate bathroom in the hall. In winter season the breakfast is on the roof and has one of the best views of Lisbon! Staff was very friendly and helpful.
