My wife and I just returned from a trip to Portugal and while visiting the city of Lisbon we stumbled onto this fine restaurant. We ate there twice. The first time, my wife just ordered the mixed salad as she was not very hungry, and I ordered the salmon. The salad was enough for both of us to share and the salmon was out of this world. It came with steamed broccoli, and three potatoes. The salmon was 11 euros and the salad was 3.50 euros. We had a very good waiter, Antonio, who spoke very good English and was quite helpful. We were so pleased with our experience there, that we returned to eat there two nights later. On that evening we accepted the bread that was brought to the table, and politely refused the cheese and meat, to which they were perfectly fine with that. Antonio did not push anything on us, but helped us make our selection. We chose the mixed salad again to share, the Garlic Prawns as a starter, and we shared a Tiger Prawn (broiled). I had a blond beer, and we shared a bottle of still water. Antonio brought to our table as a 'gift' two barnacles to sample. First time for that, and I would have to say there was not much taste to them, just reminded me of the sea. We each had a piece of desert and our total bill was 45 euros. The tiger prawn was excellent as was the garlic prawns. The tiger prawn tasted a lot like lobster especially when dipped in the melted butter sauce.
After we left the restaurant we ran into some friends on the street and they were looking for a good place to eat so we took them back to this restaurant and introduced them to Antonio and they later told us that the meal they had was the best they had eaten in Portugal. They had the swordfish, and said it was excellent.
I really feel that you can't go wrong with this genuine Portuguese restaurant.
