“Good Food, Convenient, Great Wine List”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Lots of TripAdvisor users stay at the Hotel Britania (a very good hotel with a great staff) and if you are like us, you arrived early in the morning jet lagged beyond belief and just wanted to flop down for some rest. Looking for a restaurant when you are that tired can be trying to say the least. Good news, right up the street from the Britania is a very good place for lunch or dinner called the Rubro Avenida (they have another location too). The food is well prepared and the service is quite good; English is spoken and if you are really a wine lover, they have a very, very extensive wine list-- a good place to learn something about Portuguese wine. One draw back of the place is that they allow smokers in adjacent rooms to the non-smoking seating and the smoke does, in fact, drift unpleasantly into the non-smoking area. This is a shame, since it is the one thing I can't recommend about the place.

“Good Restaurant just off Liberdade”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

We were staying in the nearby Hotel Britania and this restaurant was suggested to us by the receptionist there. The cuisine is Portuguese/Spanish, a style that suited us very well. The staff were very pleasant indeed and were prepared to take time with diners to help them make their choices. Located in part of an old building in a street running parallel to the Avenida da Liberdade, the ceiling is high and the decor is modern, with bench seating. We thought the food was excellent, and there is also a good selection of Portuguese wines. Each fortnight they feature the winers of a different producer.

Suffice it to say that we spent each of our three nights in Lisbon in this restaurant - we were very happy with it.

“Great little tapas style restaurant”
Reviewed 29 April 2014 via mobile

Reasonably priced but very tasty fare. Sensible advice from wait staff who were more concerned about the quality of our experience than having us order one or two plates too many...great tastes included courgettes with beef filling, grilled octopus and black rice (with prawns, squid ink, peppers and mussels). Worth an excursion
