“Terrific in the late afternoon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2014 via mobile

This is a great place to visit in the late afternoon when the water of the Tagus sparkles in the sunlight and you can enjoy panoramic views of the city. Enjoy a hike up through the narrow cobbled streets of take the 737 bus from the central square at Rossio. There is so much to see as you wander along the walls, visit the archaeological site or museum. If you have a Lisbon card, you get discounted entry. When you have finished your exploration of the Castle, find the artisan Icecream store around the corner and enjoy! Best Gelato in Lisbon!

“Nice day out but lacking in some areas”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

We spent half a day walking around and looking at the castle. The walk to it was very nice and the area surrounding it is lovely. It's €7.50 each for entry which isn't too bad. The views of the city from the top are worth it on its own. The castle and ruins are good and nice to walk around. There is a museum and a cafe. We found a lack of information about the place. At castles around England there's always plaques and information on the walls as you are walking around telling you about the place and it's history. There were none here. In the museum were some information boards but they didn't really go into any detail apart from saying what each item was. That is a disappointment but I certainly wouldn't say don't visit as it is a nice place and worth half a day.

“Great views & worth a stroll around the castle and surrounding area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

The entry fee proves great value. From the castle you'll have impressive views over the city and access to the castle itself. There's a nice little cafe inside too. As others have said, the surrounding streets are well worth a stroll too.
One thing to note is that the walls of the castle are quite low and some don't have handrails so I would be cautious with small children.

“Nice views, Castle and Museum miss-able”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

The Views are good from up on Soa George, but really not worth the taxi and entry fee. It does have a nice relaxed feel about the place if you are seeking a relaxing place to sit under the shade of trees. For families it is probably a good spot. The cafe and Museum are seriously lacking.

“Great views of the city”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

There is a stunning panorama of the city bellow, but other than that, there's not much to see inside. The walls can be climbed and walked on, but the we've expected much more from it. There are also a couple of beautiful peacocks, graciously 'posing' for the tourists. The full ticket price is 7,50 EUR/pers.
