Big thank you to Claudia the Tuk-Tuk driver who showed us how to walk onto the second highest platform of the elevator from street-level in Baixa-Chiado. It's really easy and definitely an under-utilized way to beat the line. From there, you just need to flash your Lisboa Card to climb the wrought-iron spiral staircase up to the topmost level. Amazing views, especially at sunset. Full disclosure: I'm normally fine with heights and old structures, but I started to get extremely anxious. Something about the low and thin (and very old) wrought-iron railings and the slight sway of the entire structure (similar to its inspiration, the Eiffel Tower). Worth the visit as least for a few minutes!
