This district is calmer, traditional and very charming. There are a lot of old structures and stunning architecture to see while wandering through the narrow and winding streets.
The perch to view the river and back onto the city is beautiful. This area has the vistas and backdrop for spectacular pictures. There can be streets that are not touristy at all giving this a unspoiled charm to this area.
There are stunning churches with many having services while open to viewing. We were fortunate to see a religious parade of hundreds after a service honoring St. Anthony.
This is definitely a stop for the entire day when in the LIsbon area.
