This was a true find. Saw it on on Trip Advisor an d it couldn't have been a greater find. Welcoming staff. Gorgeous accommodations. Glad we had our GPS to find with our rent-a-car as winding roads up in Lisbon hills but one can also go by cab. beautiful surroundings and we shall return. My wife and daughter and I found it a highlight of Portugal.

This hotel is a excellent choice. We were able to upgrade our room(we had asked on the phone and they were able to accomadate) we booked direct with the hotel. The room we got was excellent with a view on the 25th April bridge it was a corner suite. The only thing I would say about the room was the TV was in a silly location it was located in a box at the bottom of the bed and you stubbed your toe each time you passed it. It turns out as we did that the TV was severed and didn't even work we found this out on the 2nd night, the TV remained unfixed. The room was comfortable with fresh linen daily without having to ask for it. The bathroom was a little strange round the sink area it had a big panel in the middle making for it being a little squased when reaching over the sink. The shower was over the bath, and really powerful. The food in this hotel was excellent we ate in the breakfast area also next to the pool. The pool area is clean and very peaceful with excellent gardens. The spa for the hotel was excellent. The main resturant we ate in once there wasn't much vaviety with the food so we didn't go back again. The staff in the hotel were excellent and honest, I left my sunglasses near the pool and they were handed in..the location of the hotel is good and bad, the good is the perfect view and quiet surroundings the bad is having to get taxis everywhere sometimes there was a wait of at least 15 mins.

We were bit worried about its location but since taxis were always available with reasonable price from the hotel to anywhere. And the hotel itself was beautiful, and the view was great. I highly recommend this hotel.

A true Palace from its decor, location, service, food, guests, staff and location. This hotel was recommended by a Four Seasons inspector I met earlier in Thailand. It lived up to all expectations. First because it is a virtuoso hotel, we got upgraded rooms, breakfast, late checkout and a 100$ dollar for restaurants/spa included. Then the room was beautiful with a nice terrace and palatial bathroom. When safe needed battery replacement it was done within minutes. Breakfast had champaign included. Our menu prepared for our last dinner on our last night with so many courses and excellent wines was delicious and memorable. The concierge top notch with so many recommendations and offers. Thanks Pedro for the two restaurants recommended that we liked a lot. Staff super accommodating to all our requests which included lots of champaign buckets, ice non-stop and glasses for 4 persons. This trip is a once a year meeting point with fabulous friends so we wanted a fabulous hotel to frame the 5 day stay. It is truly fabulous and will be the cornerstone of our amazing trip to Lisbon and Portugal. Truly deserves it's no. 1 ranking!

Room Tip: Maybe the rooms in the villa are with history, I recommend one in the newer part with a terrace.

This is an excellent property and I will not go into details describing how good it is because others have done it already. On the negative side - the hotel is far away from the centre of Lisbon. We had a car but getting to the hotel by car is not easy either if you are not familiar with the city. GPS may send you through very narrow streets and you may end up in an accident. if you drive, look at the map beforehand and take the road with the tram line on it. The hotel has free parking which is great. Driving in central Lisbon is easier than in Rome but still not a very pleasant thing. However it is possible to find parking and then walk around. We did not like the room service food. The choice was pretty good and the service friendly but the quality is far from excellent. Also the breakfast was poor. I do not know why these days five-star hotels do no pay attention to breakfasts and food in general.
