Beautiful "Art nouveau" style (building and room).
Good location (almost in center).
Two good restaurants very nearby ( Rubro and Solar dos Presuntos).
Reception people nice and multilingual.
Beautiful bar /breakfast room.

Conveniently situated near a metro stop, Lisbon's main Avenue Liberdade and within walking distance of a lot of the sights, the Britania is an excellent hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable and exceptionally clean. The staff at this hotel are wonderful- from the reception staff to the concierge, the housekeepers and the breakfast room staff.

The breakfast is nice and plentiful. In the evening when you return to the hotel after a day's tripping a welcome cup of tea or port awaits you with lovely Portugese custard tarts or a selection of cakes

Would highly recommend this hotel..

I went to the Britânia Hotel four years ago and gave it a top rating then. I have just got back from another visit, and if I could, I would give it six stars. Great location, fabulous design and decor, spotless, great breakfast, tea served every afternoon and above all, staff that really make the difference. Our thoughts when we left were simple: why had we not been back sooner?

Just home from a four night stay at this amazing relaxing calm hotel. From the minute we arrived everything was just perfect. On arrival at 11am we were offered a complimentary breakfast which was nice. The room 33 was very well laid out, very little noise from the street. The breakfast every morning was everything you needed to keep you going as you explored the city, but the main asset of this hotel is the staff. Racquel at the reception is a star, warm friendly while remaining very professional at all times. She gave us good advice, where to go what to see and how to get there. Marco and the other staff also very helpful.Overall we enjoyed ourselves so much we are planning for next spring already

I just loved this hotel. My first trip to Lisbon (and Portugal) and although the weather was not so good, coming back to this welcoming, friendly hotel was just wonderful. As a solo traveller, I had a double bed with huge room and bathroom, not the shoe boxes normally reserved for one on their own! Everyone who stays here writes great reviews and although I have not added anything different, I just felt I had to show my appreciation! P.S. I was impressed with the Molton Brown toiletries too!

We have just spent 4 nights in a beautiful gracious hotel, feeling as though we had stepped back into an age of elegance. The hotel is a lovely Art Deco building the theme being carried out throughout the interior. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and well equipped and sleep is not disturbed at all by anything.Breakfast is very good and plenty of variety. The staff seem to glide about almost sensing what you need. The situation of the hotel is excellent being right near one of the main roads and therefore transport into the city very accessible, the yellow and red tour buses and the airport buses also stop on this road. There are lots of restaurants nearby but if you prefer a less touristy place please try Stanislav's just down the road from the hotel on Rua Carlos Ribeiro very good and lovely staff(just check that they can take credit cards because when we were there they hadn't got the facilities to take them ) also try Catita on Rua dos Bacalhoeiros which is at the bottom of the Baixa, again newly opened and again very good
Do go to Lisbon take flat solid shoes and enjoy this lovely city, and if you do stay at this hotel ,WONDERFUL
Thank you to all the staff for making us so welcome and please tell Jefferson I can still taste the hot chocolate

Room Tip: Just go and enjoy an age we thought had gone!!!

The hotel is located in the city center near the metro. The hotel is roughly seven kilometers from the airport. The hotel has five floors and great décor. The staffs are very attentive and helpful. The rooms are large and well maintained, clean and spotless. The bathroom was spacious and very well equipped. The beds were really comfortable. The breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice from fresh fruit juices, fresh fruit salad to local specialties. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend the place.
