This hotel is a good value, not a luxury hotel but the location was so so, as far as where it's located in the middle of the city this is great. The so so part that would be concerning
for women walking alone to/from hotel at night there are many bums outside of the hotel.
I counted 5 within 100 meters from hotel entrance. Service was very good, rooms nice, beds
I would say just average and linens nothing special. I had a terrible night of sleep.

price for hotel was good but next time I'd stay elsewhere.

I actually picked this hotel from trip advisor and thought it cannot be that good. As a city centre hotel this takes a bit of beating. Retro styled it is clean comfortable and well presented. Rooms are large for a city centre hotel and have everything you need. In a great position close to everything and a nearby metro station (Avenida)
Staff were really excellent and polite and courteous throughout our stay. Breakfast was 1st class and bar staff were excellent and friendly.
Really difficult to criticise anything in this hotel. If you are heading to Lisbon this small 33 bedded hotel is the place to go.

Room Tip: superior rooms are well appointed

Everything mentioned in recent reviews is exactly true..LOVELY LOVELY CLEAN.. DECO! < be sure to look up at the BEAUTIFUL chandeliers in the lobe! And in each room! the breakfast runs an amazing length of the AM! Well all of the AM! Till 12:00! It is kept full and hot and do not miss asking for some champagne with that OJ! robes...shippers lush toiletries! the staff can make ANYTHING you want happen! The 6th star I need in this rating goes to JEFFERSON! Our evening do everything person! he genuinely mad us feel he was happy to see us every time we came through! He is an amazing, caring, efficient! Above and way beyond member of the Britania family! BRAVO!

3 night visit to Lisbon to chill out and watch the UEFA Finals and stayed at Britania Hotel having stayed at Heritage AV Liberdade in June for 4 day and was impressed. Hence, chose another Heritage Hotel.

Room 53 was excellent, spacious and the hotel was wonderfully decorated in Art Deco. However, the service did not live up to the one I had experienced at Heritage.

Bell boys was conspicuously absent on many occasions for assistance with the heavy main door.

Breakfast did not the match the fabulous hotel. It was “very average.” Heritage’s Av Liberdade Hotel breakfast was much better and with a splendid coffee maker.

More importantly, arrived back at hotel at 4am woke up had late breakfast left note not to be disturbed went to bed at 12 to Woke up to hear strange noises coming from my bathroom. I was exhausted and literally had no strength to get off my bed, so shouted. ”I am still here” house keeping then shouted back “sorry” and scurried out of my room quickly. (This disturbance happened to me in Paris 2 weeks ago and in Barcelona during Easter!! What is wrong with these house maids??!!!

Having said that the room was excellent and I will probably return to Britania if not Heritage this year or next year to chill and enjoy Lisbon.

Room Tip: All rooms are wonderfully spacious and well decorated.

We stayed 6 nights at the Britania, and were very satisfied in all ways. The room was excellent and we enjoyed the quiet that comes from being off the main street. Breakfast was very good and in general we ate enough to skip lunch. We had concerns initially about the location, but, in fact, we found it was an easy and level walk to the Rossio area (12-15 minutes) and to the funicular that takes you up to the Bairro Alto district for restaurants. In addition there is a metro station very close to the hotel. Hotel Britania is on a side street, but we always felt completely safe coming back at night.
The service at the front desk was excellent. They were very pleased to make restaurant reservations for us and to help sort out my lost luggage problems by telephoning and getting information for me. Definitely recommended.

Room Tip: Book directly with the hotel.

We spent two nights at this hotel and then returned for another night a few days later. Both times our rooms were fabulous - comfortable, spacious and very clean. The reception staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Breakfast had all the options covered for a meal to set you up for the day whatever your tastes. Afternoon tea and cake was available in the lounge each afternoon on our return from a day's sightseeing. If you are able to, go and stay at this fabulous hotel. It is a treat from a byegone age.

We stayed at the Britania for 2 nights pre-cruise. We had a very spacious and comfortable room. Nice breakfast included also port wine in room. One block off of the main avenue so very quiet but close to everything. Good service. Good wi-if. Very small bar but no true restaurant, although there were many close by. Lisbon is a wonderful city.
