“Beautiful hotel”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Hotel is well located but on a quiet street just off the busier area. Our room was enormous! Beautifully furnished and with very nice toiletries, always the sign of a thoughtful hotel in my opinion.
Breakfast was delicious, as were the complimentary pastries and tea in the afternoon.
Staff were delightful, could not be more helpful and friendly.
All in all an excellent base for exploring Lisbon and thoroughly recommended!

We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is well located in a quiet area but we could walk into the centre within 10 minutes. The room was nice and large. The best part was the staff. They did everything they could to make our stay memorable. They were knowledgable, helpful and very interested to hear about our adventures in Lisbon. Raquel, especially was fantastic.

Was expecting great things from this hotel and wasn't let down. decoration and cleanliness were excellent and staff friendly and helpful. We stayed in a terrace room, very quiet and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was nice and tea/coffee offered free of charge in the afternoon.

Room Tip: terrace room was quiet and peaceful, we didn't hear anyone else at all once we were in our room.

We located in Lisbon near many if the tourist sites, but quiet. The room was enormous. Although the bath was old, it was well functioning and large. The staff was very friendly. There was a nice little bar with complimentary port. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The desk suggested a terrific restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent position on quiet street but just 50 meters from Avenida Libertade. Amazing king size bed with competing Marriot pillows and comfortness. We had a double room, very large, super clean. Excellent breakfast, great espresso coffee and english and continental breakfast. Reception and all staff very kind and helpful. Would definitively return.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and found it clean and the staff was helpful. However although is centrally located is not as close to the old city where the action is. There is construction going on next door and the banging starts before 8 a.m., not the best for leisure travel. The furnishings in the room, were art-deco and looked nice, but not the most comfortable. There is a sister hotel located in the Avenida da Libertade that is nicer and better located.

We booked this hotel because it was ranked #1 on Trip Advisor. I will say that the location was great, but aside from that it lacked a little luster. We actually stayed here one night at the beginning and one night at the end of our Portugal trip, so stayed in 2 different rooms. They were clean and fine, but the first room had an issue with the toilet flushing (not doing so), and we told the front desk, however, our toilet never was fixed during our stay. Disappointing to say the least. Our second room was also "fine", but never felt the air conditioning really got cold. Ultimately, you won't hate it, but not sure you'll love it either. I just can't figure out why it's #1, so hopefully you can have lower expectations than I did going in.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your feedback following your recent stay with us. As we say in our website, the Britania is an original Art Deco Hotel that was meticulously recuperated, as it is recognized by many of our guests in this site.
We try to keep everything in impeccable condition and if any problem occurs, we try to fix it as soon as possible or give a suitable alternative. We deeply regret if this was not the case and we thank you for your comments to improve our service.
We hope that you give us another opportunity to stay with us and provide you with a most satisfactory holiday.
Yours sincerely,
Diogo Laranjo
