A bit out of the way, but a must-see if you like tiles. Great museum shop. Turtles in the pond at the on-site cafe.

“One of the best in Lisbon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 August 2014

Definitely worth to visit. The building itself (monastery) and exposition are both good. Place with relaxing atmosphere. A bit unconvinient to reach (bus, taxi or walking).

“A city of tiles”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

With all of the beautiful tile facades dressing the buildings of Lisbon it seems only fitting that one spends a little time learning about the history of tiles in the area. I lovely museum - particularly for the set up, arrayed around a series of courtyards. A museum that you might want to spend an ambling hour.

“Good but small.”

Beautiful setting in a former convent. Very interesting tiles. Small so you only need and hour or two.

“Nothing square about this museum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

A ceramic artist's dream! Felt like I was in tile heaven! Beautifully laid out and a perfect combination of past and present pieces. Portugal is known for its tile work, and this museum shows why. A bit out of the way, but well worth the visit.
