The place is very good. Terrace, oriented on the city of Lisbon, accessible from the room directly. Staff is friendly and intelligent (special thanks to Chiara for the first evening). Room was comfortable and quite cozy. Old and partly renovated (Bathrooms, kitchen) clean building. Bathrooms are very okay - pretty modern and useful.
Meeting the morning watching the sun coming out from the hill flooding the city - what could be better?
The overall feeling of the place comes from the very delicate balance of modern and old and a pleasant location in the old district narrow streets. And a warm hospitality of personnel also. Helpful advices of staff really make sense.
Formally, it is just 10-15 minutes walk from the railway station (trains to Porto and other directions), and just 15 minutes by taxi from the airport.

It last one night until i realized, this is the perfect hostel for me!i would guess the best i have ever been to. Its close to the castle in an old and charming area of lisbon, you have to climb up a bit to the hostel, but therefore you have a great view from the terrace, and during the night it was so calm. Im living in lisbon at the moment, so i know the value of the possibility to sleep with open windows! Everybody was nice and helped me to find an apartement here.

I can recommend it to people who would like to have a relaxed stay and wants to meet interesting people beside from partyculture.
If you want to go out in Bairro Alto it takes 25min to go there. But cabs in lisbon are quiet cheap.

enjoy your trip!

Wow, love this place. So glad a friend of a friend told me about it. Really laid-back and lovely ambience. Helpful and friendly staff and in a great location. Felt like a home from home, the terrace is lovely, the breakfast yummy and although an absolutely great city (really great) I looked forward to coming back after a long day walking around this stunning city. It's also very reasonably priced. Beautiful building too.

Thanks guys

Rich

I stayed here with my sister (both 20 something females). Everything is very new, clean and colourful here. Helpful staff. There is an open terrace here with a beeaauutiful view of Lisbon; we were here in summer and sitting out on the terrace at sunset with the breeze was just sensational! We also stayed in a four bed dorm that had a door opening out directly to the terrace, so with that door and windows open the light and breeze in the dorm was wonderful.

We LOOOVED the home-made dinner, which was only €6 for the main dish, bread and wine! They have a rotating menu and cook traditional/typical Portuguese dishes. But what we loved best was not the food, but that everybody gathered around the large dining table to eat together and it was a fantastic way to meet the other travellers in the hostel. From there we made friends and some of us decided to go out for a drink together that night.

The hostel is located in a quiet area, maybe a bit too quiet for my liking, and there was a bit of a walk to get to and from the main plaza etc - mainly a hassle because it was inclined. There are a few flights of steps too to get from the street to the door of the hostel...although that applies to almost all of Portugal and not just this hostel!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can sign up for yummy home made dinner for only €7 a night which I found very good after a whole day of walking and sightseeing. There was a choice between vegetarian and regular both were delicious! I stayed in a four-bed room as I was travelling on my own did not want to be alone neither in a too crowded room. The four beds turned out to be a really good choice. I had a peek at other rooms and they were lovely also so even a bigger room would be perfect too. On my first night I was on a top bunk as no other option left, I'd suggest try to get a bottom bed if you can as the top beds are quite shaky.

Throughout my 3day stay all the staff was friendly and the cleanness was constant. You have lots of activities going on, there are free guided walking tours every day, you can book surf classes and the instructor comes and picks you up at the hostel and takes you to the beach. I had an absolutely great time surfing with him too (www.purosurfacademy.com).

Have breakfast on the terrace, it is amazing. It's facing north and you can see the all the rooftops, stunning view! (Don't forget your sunglasses :) you will need them)

It is walking distance (10 minutes) from Praça da Figueira and Rossio. Make sure you use the public elevator it is a good short cut!

Room Tip: Ask for bottom bed when you book :)

Charm, simplicity, comfort and good price. the hostel is wonderfully located in a charming area, on the castle hillside, on little romantic streets. the hostel features different rooms for different preferences. there are dorms with multiple beds, but also double rooms, simple but tastefully furnished. the building has been recently renovated, everything looks new and fresh. wooden floors and wooden blinds look very nice. there is heating in the rooms, which is not common for Lisbon, thus you can enjoy a cosy stay even in colder seasons. the stuff is very nice and helpful. the hosts offer breakfast in the morning and also they cook dinner sometimes. the kitchen well furnished to prepare your own meals.
i would certainly go there again and would wholeheartedly recommend it.

It felt like being a guest in someone's house...very relaxing and homely, with a wonderful terrace, incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and entertaining staff, quality bathrooms and wooden rooms and great breakfasts included in the price. 5 minutes away from the crowd of Rossio and Restauradores and close to the wondrous Porta do Sol. Excellent quality-price. It is a young business with a lot of potential and capacity of proposing an alternative experience of hostelling.
Go there.

Room Tip: Go there during the winter--deals available and extremely relaxing due to less tourism.
