“Very central Hotel, BUT...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 December 2013

Getting to the hotel from the airport was a nightmare! According to their web-page, bus 745 is THE best way to go (but doesn't exits any longer). One staff recommended line 744, an other 783 - but also the AEROBUS was mentioned. Confusing! PLEASE write a clear instruction how to get to your hotel fastest from the airport on your web-page!
Also very negative, the Internet connection in the business corner is charged with 0,35EUR/MINUTE - what a rip of!!!
Despite these minor issues, a nice central hotel with friendly staff!

The NH Campo Grande is not directly in the city centre but in an excellent location to get anywhere around Lisbon with bus stops and the Metro in front of the hotel. The hotel itself claims it was recently renovated but I could not see any renovation anywhere, most everything looks pretty old, except for the bathroom which was quite nice and the reception area. For the price I paid, I was happy with what I got. All in all I would say this is an okay hotel but nothing special. Noise is an issue. Depending on the side of the building, you get a bit of noise from the street. No matter what, you will always hear the landing or departing aircraft flying close to the building. For those who are noise sensitive, this might be an issue.

The hotel is well situated to the airport - bus and metro station just in front. You can easily reach all touristic attractions all around the city. The service is excellent. The staff is friendly and helpfull. The rooms are big and very properly cleaned up. We had our room on floor 10, overlooking a big part of the city. The beds are comfortable and large. Sleeping quality was excellent. We really enjoyed our 6 nights stay.

The hotel is well sitiated to explore Lisbon. The underground is near by. The hotel itself is comfotable with spacy rooms and a good breakfast. Staff is very helpful. Overall a good offer for the charged costs.

Great location for all transportations , buses, subways, trains and airplanes. The hotel staff are so friendly and helpful, especially its front desk staffs and the managers are so professional and friendly.
The room is very clean and spacious. Its breakfast buffett is excellent.
We highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

From our room, we watched and heard 737's pass overhead all the time as they had just left the airport. Fortunately, we didn't spend much time in the room. We were here for 3 nights. They've got 4 stars on the wall outside the main door. Maybe in 1964, it was 4 stars. It was more than adequate, though, especially given the great rate we got on the NH hotel site. This is the first NH hotel we've stayed at that was not up to their usual quality. We were on the 5th floor. The carpet was old and there was a gap between our wood threshold and the carpet. The bed was excellent. Other than the jets every 10 to 15 minutes, it was very quiet. The down call button on the elevator didn't work. Fortunately, we never stopped someone going up when we pressed the up button to summon the elevator. Don't pay more than 55 Euros to stay on the 5th floor. I don't know what the other floors look like. The air conditioner worked really well. The staff were pleasant but not very warm. We had left one day from 9:30 am to about 3:00 pm. We came back and had sandwiches in our room. The maid showed up to clean about 3:15. We asked her to come back and she told us she was off at 4:30 and needed to get it done. Our Portuguese friend made it clear on the 2nd time that we didn't want her to clean the room at that point. We left again about 3:45. The room was all cleaned when we came back except for the dust bunnies in the corner by the closet.

Room Tip: Maybe the street side is better for the airplane noise being less.

A functional and comfortable if unexceptional hotel on the air bus route into Lisbon and close to the metro (Entrecampos stops rather than Campo Grande). Ideal for a stop-over between flights, quiet despite being in a busy area, good service and no hassle, but probably not where I would choose to stay for a city break. Having said that it's very convenient if you don't need to be in the centre of Lisbon.
