“Great Hotel with a great staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 March 2013

I stayed three nights at this hotel and it was a great choice for Lisbon. I had taken the overnight train from Madrid, and got there very early. The young man at the front desk said the hotel had been fully booked, and our room was not ready, but he kept our luggage and told us things to do while we waited. We bought two Hop Off Hop On tour tickets from the front desk. It is 19EURO for two days if you buy the yellow bus tour, and it is also for the city buses and the city trams. Great value and you can buy it at the front desk.

The Hop On Hop Off tour--Blue Route--stops three blocks from the hotel. It is stop 9 and is in front of the El Corte Ingles Department store. The Metro station is across the street and has two lines--the Blue Line and the Red Line--to the airport.

We were assigned Room 802, and it was great. The room was huge for a European hotel, and the bathroom was great with penty of counter space. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the pillows were great. The toom had an empty refrigerator so you could keep your drinks cold. The hotel was very quiet at night.

The hotel is three blocks from the El Corte Ingles department store, and the supermarket is on floor minus one. I bought items there to keep in my refrigerator. The breakfast room was very nice, with a nice variety of foods. There were fresh fruits, pastries, cheeses, cold cut meats, yogurt, drinks, and coffee. The staff was very nice in the breakfast room.

The front desk staff is great and are willing to help and give tourist advice. I cannot think of a better place to stay in Lisbon and will stay here again on my next visit to Lisbon.

We just concluded our second overnight stay here in the past three months and can find no negatives. Excellent value for what you receive: clean and good-sized rooms, friendly and helpful staff, quiet neighborhood. They continually upgrade the place; e.g., bathrooms are new. We didn't take breakfast either time, and that was probably a mistake since the price is very reasonable. As others note, location is very good if you want to connect to other parts of town via metro. If you want to shop at Corte Ingles or enjoy art or music at the Gulbenkian (both of which we did during our stays here) it's location cannot be beaten.
We are certain that we will be back.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room with balcony. It adds a very nice touch.

I stayed 10 days in Principe Lisboa last week. Great staff, copious buffet breakfast until 10.30 (good coffee, different types of bread, pastries, juices, cereals, yogurt, etc) perfect location next to the metro (red line from the Airport or the Conference Centre in Oriente and Blue line to the city centre) and the bed is soo confortable! I will recommend it! thanks for a great stay!

Room Tip: I had street views in the 5th floor

We stayed 2 nights in Lisbon we arrived very late at night and the staff couldnt have done anymore to help and feed my husband and I and 2 hungry children(even though the restaurant had closed) The room was very spacious and clean newly decorated with a balcony.
Breakfast was lovely fresh and plenty of it. The hotel was opposite the metro station so very convenient.. Thank you for a lovely stay

We were having a short break in Lisbon and this hotel was just right for us. The staff were helpful and courteous. The room was light and airy and spotlessly clean The en-suite shower room looked as if it had been installed within the last year and was well fitted with a good hot shower. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the city in a residential road. This meant that even though our room looked over the street we were able to have a undisturbed night's sleep with the window open. The added bonus was that there is a Metro station immediately opposite the hotel taking you straight into the city, and the Gulbenkian Museum is only a short walk away. The hotel is easy to find if you travel on the Metro. Take the blue line to Sao Sebastio and then exit the station by following the signs to the red line/aeroporto which will bring you up just opposite the hotel. The red line will also bring you from the airport to the station. We really enjoyed the breakfasts - a buffet with lots of bread products, cakes, cereals, fruit etc. Nothing hot though. If we visit Lisbon again, and we certainly hope to, we will definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: We wanted a room with a double bed. It was adequate in size. If you want a larger room you may prefe...

I stayed 10 days at Hotel Principe and was surprised with the quality of the services in a three star hotel in Europe. Wonderful rooms, although not very big, everything new (very rare in european hotels...). Excellent location, in front of the metro station, near Corte Ingles and Fundação Gulbenkian.

I have stayed here several times and have never had a complaint. The price is reasonable, you are close to several metro lines and the neighborhood is fairly quiet. For a european hotel, the rooms were fairly spacious. The breakfast is pretty good with a nice assortment of choices. Staff was friendly and helpful.
