“Nice hotel for short stays”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2013

Stayed for two nights and it was nice experience. Reception staff was quick and check in was very easy. Free wifi in all areas. Hotel room was a little small, but very comfortable bed and pillows. Cleaning ladies should pay more attention (some hair on the bathroom floor). TV could have more English channels. There was a fridge in the room. Location was superb, just in front of subway station. Walking distance to shopping mall, plenty of restaurants and cafes around. In the evening seemed to be quiet and safe area. Would stay again for future short stays.

This was our second stay at the Principe and we were not disappointed. They have parking for 7,5 euros/day and are right next to the St. Sebastian metro station. The rooms are small and not much furniture but its very clean and the free breakfast is good. Also free wifi. We will most likely stay here again because the staff are friendly and the service is good.

Room Tip: I think higher floors are quieter.

I really enjoyed my visit to this hotel. I stayed for three nights with my sister.

This hotel is easily located on the red line which goes to the airport. However we got in late at night so caught a taxi for 12 euros. The hotel is clean and well located. It is not in the old part of town, it seems to be more a business area. I liked that it was close to a supermarket and huge shopping centre (handy when it rained for 2 days when we were there!).

The staff are so helpful and polite. They were happy to post postcards, give restaurant recommendations and they helped with our map when we arrived (drew on it to show where we where, best areas in Lisbon, the tram numbers we needed to get etc). No other hotel has been as helpful or lovey at check in!

Ask about the really nice restaurant done the road starting with 'C' (Cuilo?). It has great fish, nice veggies and amazing port they gave us for free because the hotel sent us there! It's only a few minutes down the road and was full of locals so that must be a good sign.

The nicest thing was when we checked out at 5am. The night manager on duty called us a taxi and then came out 5 minutes later to check if the taxi arrived and that we left on time.

Hotel is also quiet with free wifi. All definitely come again on my next visit to Lisbon.

We spent four nights here and are coming back for a fifth. The rooms are clean and there is a fridge but no washcloths (face towels) which is typical of many but not all medium price Portuguese hotels. The breakfast is good, fruit as well as Continental but no eggs (also typical in Portugal). The hotel is next to the St. Sebastio metro station but you need to know that to get back to the entrance opposite the hotel you need to go to the Red Line (versus yellow or blue) and from there only you can find the exit to Avenida Duque Alvia which is opposite the hotel. While we were there they took off the Hotel Principe sign so if that happens you need to know the address is 201.

There is a supermarket within walking distance and you can actually walk to the city center but I recommend buying the Lisboa card because not only does it provide free transport everywhere it also includes discount and in some cases free entry to places of interest..

We are going back to Principe because of a Portugal Trails tour but I think we will stay here next year because for Lisboa it is good value.

Comfortable, quiet rooms with a safe and refrigerator (not a minibar). Internet is free and relatively fast. Staff at front desk very pleasant and helpful. European breakfast served, cheese, ham, salami, large variety of pastries, yogurt, juice, cereals and fresh fruits pineapple, mango, strawberries, kiwi, and grapes. Also apples and bananas. A coffee machine dispenses a variety of coffees. Possible to walk to the historic center of Lisbon in about 15-20 minutes. Metro station Sao Sebastiao is located directly across from the hotel. To exit the metro station across from the hotel, follow the signs for Linha vermelha (red line), where there will be an exit up to the street.
Corte Ingles, a shopping mall, is located 2 blocks from the hotel. Here you will find stores that carry electronics, higher end clothing, shoes and handbags. There is also a large grocery store with a deli out front and several restaurants and a cinema.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back have balconies.

Very nice hotel - clean, comfortable bed. Good acess from the airport (metro station less than 50 m from the hotel entrance). Hotel is located between airport and main atractions of the city - very good conection, There was a great receptionist - his name was Furtado / like famous Nelly :) / We took map and he told as the best way to see Lizbona in one night and half of the day. Breakfast good enough.
