“Close to the airport”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

The staff were friendly, and the room was comfortable and clean. Convenient location, close to the airport. Taxi transfer from the airport to the hotel was less than 6 Euros. It’s also walking distance to the metro. Helpful staff.

Super professional and friendly staff combined with a very comfortable and spacious room made this the perfect place to stay before an early AM flight. I only stayed one night on my way out of the country, but there is a van you can schedule to the airport and there are always taxis available. It’s a short easy walk from the subway and although it’s not in the prettiest section of town, it’s one of the closest to the airport.

The Radisson Blu is about 15 minutes from the airport in Lisbon. They don't have a scheduled shuttle from the airport, but will send a van for pick up at the airport if they have staff available. A shuttle to the airport seemed to be conveniently arranged.

We stayed at this hotel twice in April 2014 and both times they attempted to give us a queen size room although we had reserved a king size. On both occasions, there were electrical amenities in the room that did not work, and we called for maintenance. On both occasions the thermostat did control the room temperature. On one occasion they sent a maintenance person who made marginal progress in making the system better. On both of the stays one of the two elevators did not work.

The restaurant was overpriced. When we asked if there were other eateries nearby we were told no. On our second stay we had time to walk about and discovered a number of small restaurants. We attempted to order a cup of coffee only for breakfast, we were told the only option was their overpriced buffet.

Other than advise on obtaining food, the concierge was very helpful and friendly on both occasions.

With attention to detail of hotel maintenance and making small food purchases available at their restaurant, this could be a good hotel.

Room Tip: They have a non-smoking floor. Insist on reviewing the type of room assigned before leaving the fron...

Stayed for one night with our wine tasting group. The hotel is near the airport and so well outside town. However not a problem as Metro only across the road and very easy trip into the centre. Taxis very reasonable if you don't fancy the train and there is usually one outside the hotel. We stayed in a twin room and the beds are huge, a double each. I didn't eat in the hotel but friends did and they enjoyed it and thought it was good value. The room we had was at the back of the hotel and was quiet. It was very clean. Staff were helpful and were happy for us to stay later on the day of departure as our plane did not leave till late. There was no extra charge. Some of our group visited the fish market and said it was well worth a visit and lunch there very reasonable, whole cooked lobster for 10 euros

Do your research before you drive to this location, if you don''t want to drive around the block 16 times (as I did!). You have to be in exactly the right lane to slip into the entrance. When I finally got to the entrance, an extremely rude (and probably drunk) taxi driver screamed and yelled at me while I unloaded my luggage. The bell staff got rid of him by loading two unsuspecting ladies into the back of his taxi. This was not a perfect welcome, but the hotel staff made up for it by being kind and helpful. My room was OK, but the furnishings were pretty low quality, and one closet door was hanging on one hinge. The bathroom was excellent and perfectly clean. I chose this property because I needed to drop off my rental car at the airport next day. This worked out perfectly, but the parking charge in the hotel's garage is very steep! If you want to go downtown, the metro is just across the street, and will get you to the historic part of Lisbon in 20 minutes.

The hotel is nice and the rooms are really big. For me the only issue was with wifi connection, sometimes was not so much stable. The bar at the groundfloor is nice and the choice of the breakfast menu is huge. This hotel is perfect if you need then to go to the Airport, just 10minutes ride.
