“Excellent value and very convenient!”
Reviewed 1 February 2011

My husband and I stayed here one night before a very early flight out of Lisbon. I highly recommend this hotel for its fantastic value (we got a great price) and its convenience to the airport. The rooms are very large and the bathrooms are very nice. When comparing this hotel to American standards, it is right up there. The bathroom is large and modern and there is plenty of space in the bedroom. It is quiet and comfortable. The parking is a bit hairy (especially if you have to park in the parking garage), but convenient. A big plus is the fitness center in the basement. It has only 2 machines (treadmill and bike), but this was enough to get a small workout.

Nice hotel. Good location, approx. 5 min from Airport.
Good sized room, professional staff.
Breakfast buffet was very good, usually is with Radisson Blu.
I would use this hotel again during my next stay

Being a regular Radisson customer, accustomed to their "pampering" standard, this hotel was truly disappointing.

The location is OK - no problems with that.
Lobby area is quite weird - the decoration style is opulent and old. But we can treat this as a matter of personal choice, so I won't get into it.
Room was acceptable. We stayed in a standard room, so no bathrobe or slippers.
Regular Anne Semoine amenities - however, stocked only for one guest, instead of two.

After calling the One Touch Service, and requesting toothbrush kits, we were informed they had only one in stock. Ok, it happens some times, but gives me evidence of poor stocking.

The wireless is provided by PT Comunicações, formerly state-run telco. (PT Wi-fi service).
After again contacting the Front Office, and being given a voucher, it had already been used-up. Called OTS, but nobody bothered to come and deliver me a new voucher. Luckily, I was able to use my own roaming account from t-mobile.

Staff gets a complete MINUS for their behaviour.
We were checked in by someone that asked "have you stayed with us before", and when answered NO, he didn't bother to tell a single thing about the hotel. No info on breakfast, no info on gym, no info even where was the elevator. Very poor service.

At around noon, a queue of people was waiting at the reception desk, and there was only one employee. Soon, a person i presume to be the Front Office Manager, given the age, lack of uniform but "Yes, I can" pin on the lapel, commented very rudely to this employee "it's amazing that these idiots always come here at the same time". Unlucky for him, I actually speak portuguese and it was not something very polite to hear.

Staff at breakfast are completely lacking spirit.
Almost empty room (three occupied tables), and no-one bothered to come and aks/serve tea or coffee. They only appeared after being explicitly requested several times - were they ignoring us?

Standard Radisson super breakfast is supposedly available, but the waitress didn't understood my request for the "omelet with all ingredients". I was brought something that resembled scrambled eggs with ham and tomato.

The only PLUS goes to the bellboy, that helped us with the luggage.
Definitely not worth value for money.

We were booked at another hotel with a shuttle. I changed to the Radisson about a month beforehand, when I found out that their shuttle to the airport was free.

We checked in at 6 PM on Dec 31, 3 people in 2 pre-paid rooms. I immediately inquired about seats on the first shuttle run at 6 AM (the shuttle only runs hourly, from 6 AM to 11 AM). The young lady said: "sorry we only have 1 seat left, may I suggest you grab a taxi?" I asked for other alternatives, not spending money on the trip to airport was the whole point of picking the Radisson, with their advertised free shuttle. Could they do a second run after they drop off the first group? Nope. Can they pick up the cab fare (about 8 euros)? Nope. At that point we were getting quite upset and asked to see a manager. None around. None reachable (this was New Year's Eve but still). Not a good way to start a stay.

On the way to the elevator, out of earshot from the actively indifferent front-desk staff, the bellman on duty (Ruis I think?) stopped me and proposed a shuttle run at 5:45 AM. Finally someone who cared about guest satisfaction, with a solution no less.

Really perfect hotel with great service - but no regular connection neither with airport, nor with train station. OK, there is a shuttle service from the hotel to the airport once a hour and the taxi is not expensive, but why not arrange a bus stop opposite the door?

Stayed at this hotel with my spouse and 7 month old baby for 4 nights. The hotel is modern and clean, the rooms have been upgraded with wood flooring, the restaurant in hotel is expensive but the food was excellent, the breakfast buffet was amazing. The hotel is just a few minutes from the airport and they offer shuttle service, very convenient since I was travelling with a baby, and lots of luggage and carry-ons (car seat, stroller, etc). It is far from the historical downtown area, however it's a 7 minute walk to the Metro (subway train) station. From the Metro train station, you can get downtown in 20 minutes. We bought day passes and toured Lisbon that way. Cheaper to use the public transit then commute by taxi, plus easier if travelling with children.

Lisbon airport is surprisingly close to the City. The Hotel does offer a courtesy bus to the airport between 6.00 am and 11.00 am but to get to the Hotel you have to queue for a taxi, and be prepared for a very long wait, if you have not pre-booked one. The journey can be hair raising as Portuguese driving is on the racy side. The hotel is on one of the main roads into the City, so there is a certain amount of noise. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, but Wi Fi very hit and miss. Check in was slow and the staff indifferent. It is your average business/airport hotel and OK for a couple of days provided you pre book it at the cheap rate, as definitely not worth 200 euros rack rate per night. The desk staff were not particularly helpful, but the porter was very good.
