The hotel has a high standard and is very friendly. We had a superior room (about 25-30m2) on the backside (5th floor) and was rather quiet, so you could open the window during the night, but there were almost every night the dustmen with their car, what gives rather much noise during about 20-30 min. The location is very good, so you can walk almost every part of the town. The beds are of a special quality and the best we ever had. The breakfast is not included and with 22 euro rather expensive. The quality and the choise during the breakfast is super.

A negative experience was the airconditioning, which was not cold enough. Although in town it was max. 25 C degrees, the room was always about 23 C degrees, with the airco on. For us is this too hot to have a good sleep. I asked on the desk and somebody has controled it, but it did not improved. Maybe the airconditioning was not very strong because of economical reasons.

Already some months, the hotel is renovated at the outside. During the day there can be rather much noise in your room, when you want to rest during the day. The working men stops about 19.30 hour.

Room Tip: The rooms on the backsite are quieter; but almost every night there are the dustmen-car. On the front there is the rather busy Avenida Liberdade.

Paying c. 100£ per night was a real bargain, given quality of rooms and staff at Sofitel Lisbon.
Breakfast was not included in our rate but there were multiple cafes down the avenue for a good start of the day.

Beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are nicely decorated and sized. Warm welcoming and greetings from staff all the time, and a special thanks to the concierge team for recommending us terrific restaurants, with chefs amongst the most innovative i've seen in Europe and who really dare to have fun in their menus (100 Maneiras)

Stayed here for 4 nights whilst hotel exterior was still being facelifted, so the outside was covered in protective netting and scaffolding and there was no view from the windows. We knew this at the time of booking, so it wasn't an issue. There was a little noise but we really didn't find it intrusive and it didn't start particularly early. The only thing was that the rooms were dark as a result, but hey, there are lights! Check-in took about 15 minutes as there were only two members of staff at the desk and one guest was taking a long time to process. The rooms were immaculately presented, well-appointed and very clean. One oddity in the bathroom was the design of the sink - it sat alone on a pedestal but there was a real lack of surface space to put a washbag or toiletries near it. The shower was incredibly powerful - so much so that it was easy to flood that end of the bathroom. Extremely comfortable beds, We decided to not use the restaurant for breakfast given the steep price and instead found a cafe a few minutes walk down the road. Every time we passed reception the staff said hello and we found the concierge team extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended hotel and a very enjoyable place to stay.

We stayed here during Easter and it is so far the best hotel in Europe that we have encountered. We have stayed in hotels in Paris and Barcelona and the rooms are typically very small for our price range. We booked a Superior room for 135€ per night and the room was spacious, modern, and elegantly decorated.

The reception staff was extremely friendly and polite, and went through where the attractions were on a map when we checked in. We ordered room service on our first night as we were exhausted and the food was good and well-priced.

If we return to Lisbon we would certainly be staying at the Sofitel again.
