“Ok but not the best”
Reviewed 13 October 2012

This hotel is outside the town centre but is accessible by the metro. Not on a direct line - need to change metro lines once but not too much of a problem unless you have a heavy case. If so get a taxi to and from the airport - less than 10 Euros. Hotel itself - staff friendly and helpful, room small but clean. TV has 3 english speaking channels (BBC World News, CNN and BBC Entertainment). Bathroom was shower above the bath but was ok. We had problems with the toilet which kept breaking and had to be repaired. Breakfast is Ok - mainly European stable of ham + cheese although plenty of bread and fruit. Coffee not the best. Air conditioning in rooms which was necessary as it was 30 degrees outside.

Room Tip: We were on floor 8 and it was ok

Rational room (even though not so large), great breakfast (apart from the noisy chairs), very kind and accurate service. Ten minutes by taxi from Rossio Square (therefore not exactly in the very centre of the city). The structure looks well maintained, very clean and is comfortable. It has facilities for the access for disabled people.

Good points are the good location to the Underground transport system and easily access the the main town area with the number 736 bus. The yellow bus tours also stip at the same bus stop. The hotel is opposite the totally refurbished bull ring which also holds a wide range of events. Beneath the bull ring is a shopping arcade with a food hall offering a wide range of choice. Open from 10am until 11.00pm.

Staff are very friendly and when we had a problem with the room, it was quickly changed. Rooms onto the main road are too loud due to the traffic, Suggest 7-8 floors at the back, not a great view but quiet.

The buffet was the same every day, but a reasonable choice and plenty of good coffee. Good value at €6.50 Would stay again. Taxi service is excellent

Room Tip: High rooms are quieter, as this is a busy road junction

It is a very good three star hotel in an excellent location. Personally, I use to stay there every time I go to Lisbon

It is a modern hotel with everything one needs to stay a couple of nights in business or for visiting the city. The hotel is well maintained and very clean. The rooms are on the small side and without frills but the beds, pillows and linen are very comfortable. The bathrooms are well equipped.

Its location is excellent: there is a subway station just a 5min walk from the hotel. The subway connects to the airport, the railway station and most of the interesting places in the city. The neighbourhood is very safe. There are a lot of restaurants around (from the very cheap and basic ones to more upmarket options). There is also a nicely hidden shopping mall in the basement underneath the Campo Pequeno bullring (useful for small shopping).

On the negative side, there are only two aspects: 1) in the rooms facing the main street, traffic noise is faintly heard despite the double glass windows; 2) the wi-fi in the rooms has to be paid (an unacceptable thing nowadays).

room were very small, but comfortable. same could be said for bathrooms.
one very annoying thing was that nowhere was it specified that you needed to pay to use the safe. what a surprise to find out it cost 15 euros to use this facility! they should definitely make that clear to customers.
hotel staff were not very friendly.
in terms of location: conveniently near metro station. there are not many restaurants or supermarkets near there though.

the staff is not friendly at all. As a matter of fact they are rude. Near the metro station: 5 minutes walking. The price to access the internet is expensive if you need to use their computer. The area at night , for me is dark. The beds are comfortable and the room is quite and clean. Is not very near from downtown... but with the metro you get there soon..

Hotel is located near metro station, so that makes it easy to access. Prices are 60€ per night, there's a feefor using safebox in your room (1,5 €). Internet is also not foR free and the prices are exagerated. There is a Fon Zon signal in the hotel, that's Portuguese wifi provider. The price is 3 € per day, so much cheaper than to go online via Hotel Alif internet.
Rooms are nice, air comditioned, on the backside not noisy at all. Breakfast is rather poor, don't expect too much. But for the price of a room it is a fair deal..
