Our first night in Portugal was spent here, a quiet hotel just off Liberdade avenue so easy to get the Airport shuttle bus and a few minutes walk from the stop. The hotel has retained many of its lovely elegant features and was a peaceful haven for us to recover from long flights. also close to the square where you can catch the yellow bus tours around the city or walk to the water. we took a tram up to Belem and discovered the fabulous Lisbon Pasry shops. Custard tarts are a MUST! We found a small farmers market and tried the yummy soft sheeps cheeses, superb hams, breads and of course sampled the effervescent vino verde and tasted a variety of ports. This hotel is a bargain and I will use it again.
