We arrived late (11.30pm after flight delays) and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a corner suite on top floor. Breakfast was good with enough choice. Conveniently located as noted by others. Pool and rooftop bar weren't open due to winter months. There is a charge for the internet but if you sign up for the loyalty programme (no charge) the charges are waived. If we return to Lisbon we would happily stay again at the Tivoli Lisboa.

Room Tip: Selection about spa is a mistake and can not remove it- please disregard it

This hotel is very well located on the main avenue where all the major brands are. For a 5-star hotel, the price is very affordable (around 130euro per night). However, the fact you pay 15 euros per 24 hours for an Internet connection, it is exorbitant. They should find a formula to offer complimentary connection. All 5 star hotels do it nowadays

The breakfast buffet is great. We had dinner at Flo, it was OK but not super.

Rooms are great and bedding was also great.

Overall, we recommend the hotel

Well located. Close to Bairro Alto and Chiado. 5€ taxi at night to go to the restaurants. Good bed and bathroom. Staff very friendly. I'd recommend and return. They are remodeling some rooms so you might find some noise in the afternoon if you stay at the hotel, what is not usual.

We decided on this hotel for a luxury weekend to celebrate a special occasion and we had no regrets. The service and attention to detail was all one would expect from a 5-star hotel. The room was well equipped and the beds extremely comfortable. Even though the busy Avenida da Liberdade was facing our room it remained quiet inside and we slept very well.
The concierge gave us a lot of tourist information and advice and the walk down to the centre was very enjoyable.
We had dinner on Saturday evening in the Terrace restaurant; the menus on this day featured cuisine from Macau, a former Portuguese possession in China, so the food was Portuguese/Chinese. The food was superb and we were able to enjoy a full menu of soup, fish, main and pudding. The cost including an excellent bottle of wine recommended by the waiter, water, coffee etc. was 120€ for the 2 of us, which we thought was excellent value.
The only, minor, criticism is that the tray of coffee, tea etc. in the room is not for free.
We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Room Tip: Possibly worth paying a little extra for a room with a view of the Avenida.

It is now 11:00 pm. I have to get up at 3:00 am to catch a flight. They are doing very noisy maintenance in a nearby room. I have called the front desk twice to ask them to stop (politely!) but all I have gotten for my trouble is a phone call with heavy breathing on the other end. Seriously?? (They've been at it all day so it's not like this was a sudden problem).

Dear
Thank you very much for sharing this poor experience during your recent stay with us. I am sorry for all the inconveniences you went through all night. This is not acceptable and I have instructed my Safety & Health Department to be alert if something similar is ocurring during the night shift. I 've to assume that renovation works are taking place to improve facilities in the hotel but none of the works are supposed to be done overnight. Again, please accept my personal apologies and if you decide to visit Lisbon again on a personal trip do not hesitate to contact me and I will take care personally of your reservation.
Kind regards

this place was beautiful! we loved their poolside lounge area and upstairs dining area. great location and walking distance to everywhere.
Lisbon is beautiful and modern. We took the tram to St. George's Castle & right away we saw 3 guys that look like pick pocketers as they boarded the tram, so we covered our bags. They brushed up very close to us girls and even caused a scene. Luckily our stop was nearing, as we exited, those 3 also exited & went back in line to go on the same tram again...they didn't fooled us girls! =)
We also enjoyed sight seeing at Torre de Belem (Tower of Belem). Great view of the bay. You will see what looks like the Golden Gate Bridge because it was designed by the same architect.

We stayed in the Tivoli Lisboa for two nights as part of our Viking River Cruises "Portugal River of Gold" Douro River tour. The cruise had many problems, but this is not the place to review it. The hotel was as deluxe as the Viking people had advertised. Our room, facing the grand Avenida da Liberdade, was surprisingly quiet once we figured out how the windows and swiss shutters worked. The view was nice - we could see the Sao Jorge castle, the holiday decorations on the avenue, and even a local "fun run" in the cold rain outside our window. Our room was fine, with some deferred maintenance issues (door on the cabinet with the mini-fridge fell off). The breakfast on the top floor restaurant was excellent, with a lovely view of the city at sunrise. But it was confusing as to where to sit (wait for the host? just go?), and what to serve yourself (e.g. juices). I'm not at all convinced we'd pay the out-of-pocket expense to stay here, but as part of a package, ok. The hotel restaurants and those nearby may have been great (and expensive) - we didn't try them. Instead we wandered around the corner to Mimosa do Salitre, rua do salitre 50) a family restaurant with excellent food, great and cheap wine, and a wonderful personal welcome from the family (we hope to review this great place, if TA allows!). So, if you want to say you stayed in one of Lisbon's best, this IS the place. If you don't brag about where you sleep, well ... see my other reviews.

Room Tip: Its nice to see the Avenida, and with the shutters and double windows, surprisingly quiet. So locati...
