These people know how to make you feel at home. Their kindness and attention to detail is fantastic. The bar is great - their sommelier is one of their best assets. Ask Ricardo for a recommendation on wine, and you'll be amazed.
Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are great. Food (yes, get the room service at least once) is very good. Concierge is knowledgeable and complete with details. Staff is very talented with their English.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony with a city view.

The hotel was great. Well up to the standard of service expected of a Four Seasons. The staff was amazing, the room was large, clean and comfortable and the lobby and grounds were spectacular. Our guide book said that it was probably the top hotel in Portugal and I think that may have set expectations a little too high. We had just come from the Intercontinental Porto which I would give the nod to between the two hotels. Not that this hotel was bad, that hotel was just amazing. Also, the rooms were a little dated. You could see the old world oppulance and elegance of the hotel but it had been updated and renovated. That's not a bad thing, it was just a little strange to see the toilet used to be a steam room with all of the fixtures still there but they didn't work. There were a few things like that. Also, the outside of the hotel from a distance (it sits on one of the hills) looks more like a large Holiday Inn than a Four Seasons (read: Large, square concrete building). FInally, if going for leisure you should understand that it sits in the business district. The views are quite nice but it's a long walk into the historic district and a big hill down to the subway. I would probably not stay here again for leisure just because of the location but would definitely recommend for business.

We were however sorry to read that you found some things dated, we completely understand as the Hotel will be turning 53 this November! We also realize that you found the location a little "off" but do hope to welcome you again in the future.

Few accolades would sufficiently express our satisfaction with the Four Seasons Ritz. From the moment we arrived, the courtesy and helpfulness of the hotel staff was more than we could have realistically expected.Beyond this, one could not ask for a more beautifully appointed guest room with an outstanding view overlooking Edward VI Park.As for the food and ambience of the La Veranda Restaurant, it was superb! Without question,we shall return in the near future.

This Hotel is always a fantastic experience, I have been here several times and everything went perfect always, I love the bathrooms and the service, still an hotel where they call you with your name!!!

After lots of hotels in 5 continents this hotel is, by far, the best of the best. Great room wonderful breakfast and good location. Very good restaurants near by. Lunch at the hotel is also great, the buffet was everything you could think.

After many years the Ritz still caters like no other in Portugal. From the

Just superb. Service 100%, rooms large and clean, reastaurant A1. Another reviewer's child said "If ther's a Four Seassons in town, what else is there to decide?" and it's quite true - on the understanding that it is expensive, and not for everyone's pocket.
