Go there for the wide corridors, the HUGE flower display, the spacious rooms, the impeccable service, the gin martini's (although the nicest part of the bar is smoking - totally out of date and NOT very pleasant - but there is also a non-smoking section). Don't go there if you are on a budget. *Definitely* do not go there if you are on a budget. I have one minor complaint: the air conditioning in the room could have been a bit stronger (=colder).

First things first: the service in this hotel is superb! Yes, the rooms are fine (if perhaps a little dated), the views over beautiful Lisbon are nice, but what earns this hotel a top rating, is the smooth and efficient way everything is run, and the helpful and knowledgeable staff. Lots of plusses for families: connecting room, good and varied room service menu.
We stayed with 3 teenagers, who loved the cool fitness room on the top floor with amazing views and an outdoor running track of 400 meters. In the basement, there is a nice and properly sized pool as well as a spa, where the reviving massage was very good indeed.
The hotel is situated about a 15-20 minutes walk from the old city, but for families with young (or tired) children, there are taxis just outside the hotel.
Only negative observation: there is a busy road just in front of the hotel, so even though we were on the 9th floor, we could not sleep with the windows open due to traffic noise.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front side have views of a park and morning sun, but more traffic noise than the ones a...

From the moment we entered the hotel we felt welcomed and valued. This is a hotel that understands the nuances of good service. You definitely pay for this, but it is worth it. Our room was large and spacious. The bed was a bit soft for my taste and I suspect might be time to upgrade mattresses. Our bathroom was spacious (although the lights on/off with the switches are confusing). They use L'occitane products and leave water each evening. The breakfast buffet was pricey but excellent. Steeped tea, large variety, and impeccable service.

Room Tip: High floor for an amazing view. Get a terrace room!

We've stayed in several Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton properties and this was one of our least favorite.
Pros:
1. Service was great. They really seemed concerned that the air conditioning was not working up to our standards and offered several solutions.
2. We ate in the bar/terrace restaurant for lunch one day and then the fancy dinner restaurant for dinner another and they were both very good with good service.
3. The blow dryer in the room worked great, the room we had (on the side without patios) was large and the bed was comfortable.
4. They offered American-style coffee and "to go" cups which is unusual in Europe
5. They had washclothes in the rooms which isn't always offered in Europe

Cons:
1. The air conditioning throughout the hotel, but especially in our room, felt like it barely worked. The room was warm, the bathroom was really warm, the elevators were so stuffy, etc. We couldn't sleep the first night so we asked if they could fix it. The engineer came to our room several times but everything he tried didn't make a difference. The next day they offered to move us to a new room which was very kind, but it wasn't any cooler. They gave us a fan which helped a little, but in a Four Seasons property, I would expect to be able to keep the temperature at whatever I would like. We slept with only a sheet the rest of our stay. So, if you are visiting in the summer months, you may want to take this into consideration. We heard the same concern from many other guests, too.
2 - The concierge staff didn't impress us. They were friendly and responsive, but we had better luck using Trip Advisor on a few occasions.
3. The lighting in the bathroom was dim and there wasn't a small magnifying mirror, or a mirror to check the back of your hair.

Had a great weekend celebrating one of our birthdays in Lisbon city. Great service as always. Fantastic breafkast buffet. Nice touches for the children in the rooms. Very close to El Corte Ingles for shopping. Right next to Edward VII Park. Staff always with a smile!

This hotel is best in breed, and well priced for the quality of service, decor, overall experience. The concierge team is phenomenal and tireless. As is the Room Service staff, housekeeping, all service staff. It's clean, rooms are spacious, common areas gorgeously decorated, never feels crowded or hurried. Gorgeous extensive breakfast (if that matters) and lovely terrace to dine on.
Recommendations for excursions, dining, shopping were fantastic. Even the bellmen were fantastic and helpful at all times. Very clean, comfortable rooms with good views on either side and terraces. Accommodating room service with special requests, perfect English spoken by all staff.
Its not charming or quaint but grand and beautiful. Romantic is up to the guest!
I wish all luxury hotels performed like the Ritz Lisbon.....

Room Tip: I think either side is good, definitely a higher floor so you have a view.
