“Cosy & modern”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

A small hotel located in the very center close to all sights. Thanks to a young man at the reception (I think Pedro) for his attention and help. Breakfast is very basic in a crowded breakfast room. Free Wi-Fi but works only in the lobby area. Rooms are modern and clean. It's worth the money we paid.

Myself and my wife have just returned from a city break in lisbon. We found the Hotel to be well located for exploring lisbon. The metro line and bus excursion grey line are located very near by. The hotel is compact but very nicely decorated aswell as being located in a very nice part of Lisbon city.
We found the staff on the reception desk to be very helpful.
The room was nice and house keeping was efficient. The only issue we had with the hotel was braekfast. The choice was rather limited and on our last day there we arrivied down for breakfast a few minutes before 10.30 as it was finishing then. The lady serving teas and coffees was furious with us as we were 'holding her up'.
I found this to be very unprofessional, but bar this isolated event I cannot fault the hotel.

We arrived at the hotel at 7am and were kindly greeted by 'Benfica' (You know who you are) lol. We had not slept at all and because we arrived so early we were informed that our room was not available. Benfica then quickly found us a room so we could get some sleep. THANK YOU BENFICA!!!!
All staff at the reception of the hotel were outstanding. The gentlemen took our bags, opened doors, recommended the best restaurants, and gave directions and advice when we asked.
Our room was excellent we were in 301 for our first night (we then went to the Algarve for 3 days) and then were placed in room 504. 504 was much larger but both rooms were large for Europe standards. The bathrooms were large and the entire room was spotless!!!
We had amazing staff. Breakfast was great every morning with the selection of cereal, bread, meat, cheese, yogurt, juice, eggs, bacon etc!!!
The hotel is centrally located right off the avenida de liberdade and very close to the subway (which was very easy to use and very cheap). Rossio square is about a 7 min walk from the hotel.
Even though the one staff member (that we know of) is a Benfica and not a Sporting fan the entire stay was beyond perfect!!!
Right at the corner of the hotel is a cafe with the BEST pasteis de nata at 1 euro each!
We would definitely go back to this hotel and to the beautiful country of PORTUGAL!

First impression, the hotel's modern design seems to work well overall, but the small, bare reception desk didn't portray its 4 stars rating. The room - well laid out, but I felt the bed is a bit too firm for me and the air conditioning was struggling a little. I particularly like the Yves Rocher shampoo and shower gel. Its breakfast buffet wasn't great for a 4-starred hotel. I think the best thing about the hotel was its location - very near to the main centre of Lisbon, or if you want to go further, with metro, but still quite secluded and quiet.

our booking was done for two double-bed rooms with double, not twin beds, and when we checked in they said there are no double-bed rooms available! very disconcerting, i must say. the receptionist's attitude was "not my fault, you should have mentioned two kingsize-bed rooms instead of two double rooms". they solved the problem eventually but the point is tourism jargon is irrelevant to travellers, don't hold it against us if we can't speak hotel-ese - especially when we specifically mention "no twin beds" on our reservation - that should be enough!!!

the breakfast offering was not enough for a 4-star hotel, f.i. same food every day for 6 days and no vegetables whatsoever. the coffee was terrible.

the beds are luxurious, lightning is great, bathrooms well equipped and the rooms overall are extremely clean, but unfortunately there are no sound-proof windows which can be a problem even when you're trying to sleep at the 7th floor.

for some strange reason, the hotel guests were all senior citizens. we were basically the only 4 guests in their thirties at that hotel :))

Room Tip: bring your earplugs... the streets are noisy and they have no soundproof windows.

Stayed for 5 nights on business. The hotel is modern and clean and the location is outstanding (corner of Avenue Liberdade). There are many dining options within short walking distance and a grocery store across the street. Staff was very nice and efficient, check-in and check out very quick with no hassle. The doorman (who is there most of the time) is an exceedingly nice gentleman and very helpful. Staff speaks very good English and was helpful beyond just hotel information (travel options, shopping and local tips and tricks).

Standard room is not big but comfortable with a good sized bathroom and amenities. On the 4th floor I had no view but I was not looking for one. Breakfast was fine, what you would expect from this level of hotel. No real sitting area in the lobby but there is a small bar for impromptu meetings if needed.

I used public transport only once and the station was very close to the hotel. When asking for a taxi at any time of the day or night reception uses an internet service and the taxi got there within 5 minutes which I found very convenient.

The TV in the room is tiny but usable, the reception of some stations was very poor but that may have been an issue with my room (was not important enough to request a fix).

Housekeeping is perfect, the room was cleaned very well every day of my stay.

Room Tip: I've heard higher floors have views and a balcony. On the 4th floor I had neither.

This hotel offers an excellent and calm location, very near to the main centre of Lisbon and with a metro station in a few meters. The staff is very polite and the room service is very efficient. The only thing I´d like to point is that the buffet was very poor taking into account this a 4 stars hotel.

Room Tip: Choose an interior room. The Avenida Liberdade could cause certain noise at early morning.
