“A Welcome Retreat in Lisbon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2011

The Tiara Atlantic Park Hotel is a five star gem in Lisbon. The location next to the park ensures a quiet nights sleep and yet the hotel is close to the Metro and all bus routes. Internet access is a must for the modern business person and the free wi-fi offers a good service wherever you are in the hotel - even works on my mobile phone - very handy. The inclusive breakfast deal is the one to have - a good selection of cold and hot dishes and eat as much as you wish. I will stay here again on my next visit. The only drawback for me was the lack of a suitable vegetarian option in the main restaurant, although there were suitable options for the room service.

Room Tip: Book in advance - and also get the best rates.

A divine hotel in an excellent location. Friendly helpful staff and beautiful rooms. Expensive room service but luxury isn't cheap. it is on a big hill mind, you have to be fit and there are more central hotels but it is lovely and worth a stay

Tiara Park was the last hotel in a trip to Lisbon-Egypt-Paris-Lisbon before returning to Brazil. I have to say it was the best too, with a large room with a view to the park Eduardo VII and the city, very comfy bed and linen, great spotless clean bathroom. Location is very good, walking distance to Praça Marques de Pombal, Avenida da Liberdade and to El Corte Ingles. The hotel, however, is situated in a hill, that is not very steep, but elderly people might want to get a cab when going up. Only minus was that after asking by email, the hotel offered us an upgrade to the room with a view upon a price, which was not bad, but since all other hotels in the very same trip has offered the same without a charge, we were wondering if Tiara Park couldn't be as kind as the others....

Room Tip: Only if you pay for one, unfortunately!

We stayed here for the later part of our honeymoon and were extremely pleased. It was in the heart of the city within walking distance to great shopping and night life. Cabs were extremely easy to get here even though the park across the street was hosting a big send off to the Portuguese national soccer team and half the country must have been there.
The staff was extremely friendly and very eager to help. We had a minor issue with the safe in the room in that it malfunctioned on us the day before we left. It was a state holiday and the hotel was a little lighter staffed. When we called the front desk in panic, we were at first told that they would get someone the next day, but when we explained that we were leaving the next day and now were in a panic and wanted the safe opened sooner rather than later, they called the hotel locksmith at home and we had the safe opened in a matter of 1 hr.
Overall, the hotel was immaculate and the rooms were extremely modern and comfortable and the view of the city was amazing. 15 mins to the airport and a 5 min cab ride to bario alto and nightlife. If you prefer to walk, a leisurly 20 min walk will do.

The Tiara Park Atlantic is a premium hotel in Lisboa. It is not attached to one of the main North American chain but this brand has a few luxury locations throughout France/Portugal.

It is definitely trying hard to live up to its 5-star rating and for Lisbon, this definitely appears to be such premium hotel. That said, it does not feel as luxurious as some other 5-star hotels in other part of the world. Overall, I'd day that this is a 4-star property, with 5-star service, and 2-star pricing - as this property was a tremendous good value during my stay (maybe because I was visiting during low season).

It is fairly easy to get to this locations as it is located a couple of blocks (uphill) from the Marques de Pombal transportation hub. For those not familiar to the city, this would be 20-30 minutes walking distance to the historic district or about 5 minutes using the metro.

The property is modern and spacious. Check-in and bell staff were very helpful and friendly. Upon getting into my room, bell staff noticed a defect to some of the furniture. Maintenance decided that it would be better to just change me to another room which was done quickly and efficiently. Views from the room were good, but not necessarily spectacular.

Room size is good, bed was comfortable and the bathroom offered all the standard amenities. It was a decent size by European standards.

Internet service was somewhat unreliable on my smartphone (WiFi - Blackberry) but as mentioned in another review, this was a problem throughout Europe with Swisscom WIFI services, so not specific to this property.

I did not have breakfast at this property as it very expensive. There are many shops / stores in the area where you can grab juice, fresh fruits, pastries for less than 5euros!

Our room on the 18th floor was very comfortable and spacious. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Although it had a good location for walking round Lisbon the one negative was the hill immediately infront of the hotel to be climbed on the return journey. I recon that isn't enough to stop us staying there again but for someone who had a walking disability it is a consideration.

My husband and I stayed at the Tiara Park for a 3 night weekend break.
The hotel is clean and modern. Close to the airport and taxi inxexpensive.
Reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and as mentioned in other reviews, the beds and fluffy pillows were to die for!! Bathroom immaculate.
We did not have breakfast in the hotel as it was very pricey. There is a patiserrie a few minutes walk away (turn right out of the hotel and straight down)with a wonderful selection of pastries.
The nearest metro is 5 minutes walk. A one day travelcard is only 4 euros and for this you get unlimited metro, bus and tram travel. When you first purchase the day travelcard there is a 2 euro charge for the paper ticket it is loaded on but then you can reuse the same card to reload so don't throw it away!!
The old trams are a wonderful way to see the city. We used trams 25 and 28.
Public transport very easy to navigate. Taxis also very reasonably priced.
Tiara Park provided us with the perfect base to explore a wonderful city. Would recommend this hotel to all. The good reviews are well deserved!
