“beautiful 5-star hotel in a great location in Lisbon”
Reviewed 18 September 2009

Stayed at this hotel in September 2009 for a 5 day stay in Lisbon. The location is great, right near the Edward VII Parque and the Marques de Pombal traffic circle (with Metro). The staff were helpful, the restaurant great and their lounge fantastic. The only concern I would have is the prices in the lounge, a bit on the high side... and there isn't really anything nearby for an alternative (however it is very easy to hop on the metro to the Restaurdos district and get some good fare there). They also have 2 stations for internet access on new modern computers and the access is free of charge. A great place to stay if you are going to Lisbon!

Me and my partner stayed in September for 3 nights at this hotel and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport and cost 10 Euros in a taxi (with one piece of luggage) which I think is the best way to get to and from the airport.
From the moment we arrived at the hotel we the staff could not do enought to help us. From opening the door of the taxi to taking our bags to the room to checking out, this standard next dropped thoughout our stay, We had arranged a double room but were given a choice at reception of a number of rooms and as my partner was a smoker we chose the smoking floor. The Conceirge was very helpful in advising us on how to get to certain sights and the best way to travel around.
The rooms are very sylish and the view on the 8th floor was excellent (the hotel is located on one of the many hills in Lisbon). We did notice there were 18 floors so the view would of been even more spectacular the higher up you were. The beds were very comfortable and a welcome sight after a long day taking in the sights. The mini bar and breakfast menu was vast but expensive from experience in staying in other 5 star hotels in the past.
We had breakfast included in the price of our stay and the selection was excellent. There was a good selection of fruit, meats, hot food and juices and everything was tasty. Again the staff were very attentive and always noticed when the coffee cup was empty!
Lisbon it self is a lovely city. All the streets are beautifully cobbled with plenty to see. There seemed to be always a statue or building of interest which we stopped to look at furher. There are plenty of buses, trams as well as the metro to get around the city and provide an inexpensive method of transport. It is worth getting the 24hr travel pass which allows unlimited travel on these modes of transport for 4er each.
As being on the coast there was an huge selection of seafood restaurants with fresh lobster and crabs on display so you can see what you eat beforehand. The Restudores area was where the best area to eat and on our last night we came across a delightful Italian Resturant (forget the name) which was truly excellent.
We visited the Oceanarium was was excellent near the Vasco De Gama shopping centre and recommended as well as the Jeronimos Monestery and Custard Tart shop which was truly devine. We didnt visit Sintra but went to Cascais and Estoril (caught the train from Cais De Sodre) by train and it was great to laze on a beach for a day catching the rays!
The one downside to Lisbon was the fact that drugs are rife in Lisbon. On our first night (Sunday) we were offered drugs on six seperate occasions by different people in the space of 2 hours. This was most unexpected and took us by suprise but this seemed to die down as the week went on. This didnt spoil our holiday but made us feel a little uneasy at times walking around at night.
Summing up this is a great hotel and a true 5 star hotel which I would recommend to anyone. Excellent staff made this trip memorable. If you have any questions then please email me.

Booked this hotel last minute and got an amazing rate considering the quality of the hotel -- great service, somewhat uninspired but very nice clean rooms with a nice bathroom and Hermes products, good location (next door to the 4 seasons to give a hint). Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My partner and I have just returned from a week in Lisbon and were supposed to stay in the Marriott but decided it was a little far out from the city centre. We changed at the last minute and were delighted with the Tiara park Atlantic. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the room was fantastic for the money. The bed was 7ft wide and was really great. We decided not to include breakfast and are delighted we didn't. The food in the restaurant was really not good at all and was really very overpriced. Two pastries and two coffee down the street was €3.80 compared with €23 euro in the hotel. The worst coffee I had all week was definitely in the hotel. If you asked for poached eggs they were either like rubber or arrived scambled and cold from the buffet. Two sandwiches and cokes in the bar were €37 which I thought was a little steep.

We were a little disappointed that on the last day our flight was not until 9pm and a shower could not be found for us to use even though the hotel was quiet.

You could pay for wifi in reception or go to the business centre but I tried to use the computer here all week and never found it free as kids playing on PCs.

The hotel is really fantastic (although it lacks outside space). The location is great and the staff are all more than helpful. What a shame then that the food and drink is overpriced for the city and results in the bar and restaurant being empty. My advice is stay here but go out to eat. Don't even think about having that Baileys nightcap as it will set you back €23 for 2.

I was upgraded to the higher floor with a great view. People are very friendly and willing to go extra mile. Always!!!
I will come back again for sure.
Thank you Tiara Park for making me feel so special and comfortable.

We stayed for 2 nights and paid around £45 per night. The rate should have been about £90 per night, but we booked through expedia who provide extremely cheap rates.
We booked the twin as that was what was on offer, but on arrival they offered us the double room for no extra charge. (It is the biggest double bed I have ever seen in my life!) Staff were wonderful and so freindly. No snobbery which I always find nice in 5* hotels.

The room was beautifully decorated and massive. The bed was huge as was the bathroom. 10th floor, with a lovely view of St Jorges Castle. The pictures I will upload in the next couple of days can describe the room better than words so check back and have a look through them in a few days!

Slight uphill walk to the hotel which in the 40 degree heat was a little intimidating. But if you get out at the right metro exit it is less than 10 minutes till you arrive back at its doors.

The city tour buses all run from the park outside of the hotel, which we found to be the most convinient mode of transport for the further attractions. We used city siteseeing which was 15 euors per person for 48 hours.

Not far from the Restaurodes area, which as the name suggests is where all the restaurants can be found. Wondeful Italian down there, just as you walk down from the Restaurodes metro.

All in all, I would deffinatly stay here again and would recommned it to anyone else!

TIPS:
You must go to Pasteis de Nata to sample the most amazing custard tarts. Extremely popular with locals and tourists for the world famous tarts. Packed to the max, but outside is misleading as I would say it can hold around 200 people. The tarts are the best ever. Served warm and simply delicious! We had a sandwhich there too, which was okay (3 Euros and must have had about 5pounds of mozerella, excellent value) but weren't overly amazed. I think this stop is one for the sweet cakes and pastries really. Right next to the Jeronimos Monastery (Beautiful and recommended visit.) So perfect for a tea break.

Sintra is a MUST. 40 minutes by train from Rossio station in Restaudoes.
Wonderful, fairy tale place. Very romantic. It is around 3 Euros return per person by train and they run every 20 minutes all day long.
We spent the day there and used the tourist bus (right out side the station on arrival. Stop off on your way through recepetion and they will give you the bus number.) It was 4.50 Euros each and opporates a hop on, hop off service but in one direction only. It has 4 main stops. So just do them in order and go onto the next. Wondeful day.

PHOTOS TO COME IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

We wanted a hotel for one night in Lisbon to start our holiday and saw that this was well rated on trip advisor. We were not disappointed at all! The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. We had an emaill from them at home before we left and they resonded to some queries we had very quickly also by email (regarding the carpark and such). The standard of service was excellant throughout and quality of room brilliant. We paid £80 which seemed to be an offer at about 1/2 the normal rate which made it excellant value. The breakfast was extra (which we knew) and a bit pricey but reflected the normal clientele I suppose!! (a small bottle of water in the minibar was 4.5 euros and a large chocolate bar was 9 euros! - needless to say we passed on those!). Our only surprise was there was no coffee/tea makig facilities in the room which would have been nice.
A brilliant start to our Portugal holiday and one we will definately use when we visit Lisbon again
