You can use the BUS from airport to go to the hotel. There is the underground station nearby with the direct line to the city centre. Simple breakfast and free Wi-Fi. I have noticed the cost savings...

it was very smelly in our room by insecticide reagent. It was very unpleasant. I think, the staff knew about this, but no changed room for us. It was the first nuisance for me in this hotels. About others, all is good.

About 10 minutes walk from the metro station "Praça de Espanha", give or take. And there are 2 good restaurants nearby, a vegetarian buffet (Green Pepper) and a Brazilian churrascaria (Sabor Mineiro). Both on the opposite site of the hotel, not too far apart. They are very easy to find. We tried both. No complaints there.

A shopping mall is 15 minutes walk away from the hotel (uphill), with supermarket, bakery, bars and restaurants inside. Walk uphill and when you see the mosque just keep going straight, you will see it.

Hotel very well situated close to the airport (10 euro taxi cost) and close to Lisboa centre (you can walk there). Located close to an office area, so in the evening it is very quiet.
Friendly staff, modern clean rooms. Breakfast is complete, and easy buffet.
I recommend you to stay there.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the back of hotel quiet.

the hotel is really good:according to the appearance it was only recently built ( maybe a little too thin walls however),very clean, superb professional and helpful staff..iow a good choice but.. you better like airplanes (as I do),because the hotel is situated in the axis of the nearby Portela airport's main runway .The window insulation is very reasonable however, and at night there are almost no flights.
I stayed here for 4 nights, including breakfast ( to pay extra!).On that behalf I was not really "thrilled"... In comparison with Mercure hotels in the north of europe (surely in Germany) this was rather basic:scrambled eggs, some bacon, sausages that came clearly out of a tin, some cheese and slices of meat, croissants, bread and cakes that's it.On the positive side here: ther were ample fresh fruit salads!!
The people at reception were extremely helpful ---to illustrate: My room upon arrival was next to the elevator, and a change was made immediately when requested.
On the second day I lost my cell-phone, or it was stolen ( beware on the public transport during peak in lisbon!).The reception staff contacted "lost and found" from the transport company several times the next days on that behalf..
So would I return? yes,!(if the price is right),but probably would decide on a daily basis to add breakfast or not: it's quite expensive for what you get of a choice.
Important tip: metrostation "jardim zoologico" is less than 5 mins away,From there you are in 10minutes in the city centre or wherever you want to go.(leave the car where it is,it's of no use in and around lisbon, unless you have strong nerves, lots of time and too much money!)

Room Tip: I had a room on the back side,so away from the busy road.On the back theer is also a curving road an...

We had e nice stay at the Mercure Lisboa hotel. Staff was really friendly and there is free internet available. We booked the hotel because it also has a pool available. This pool was OK although a bit dated, it could do with a bit of a make-over. The breakfast is diversified and good, but maybe a bit pricey. The location of the hotel is close to the metrostation, which is necessary because in the surroundings of the hotel there is not much to do. All in all a good hotel at a fair price.

From arriving to leaving we found the personnel in this hotel to be welcoming, friendly and helpful and this made our stay particularly good. it is not centrally situated but the metro station is close by ande so access to downtown is easy and straightforward; It is also on bus and local train routes. Breakfast was good and the one dinner we ate there was fine.
