This is a very nice boutique hotel, charming, small, well decorated and with spacious rooms. Breakfast is simple yet the quality is superb. If you like boutique hotels, you will enjoy the Palacio Ramalhete. However, note that depending what room you stay in, there are lots of stairs and no elevator. It is not easy to lug your suitcase up. If you have a car, parking is an issue, all public parking lots are a few blocks away. TV was wimpy - I agree, I don´t take vacation to watch tv, but after a long days touring it is good to turn the tube on and see what is happening in the world - they had 5 channels at most. Wireless worked well. The hotel is only about 300 meters from the train station that can take you to Cascais and connect to Sintra.

Cozy, beautiful rooms, great location (business or pleasure) and the feeling of a real city palast is a wonderful combination.

Beautifully renovated, this hotel lives and breathes history - 19th century tiles decorating the walls of our room, antique furniture and original wooden floors made us feel like we were taken back to the times one only reads in books and sees in the movies. Yet all the bathroom fixtures were modern, air conditioner was heating the room well and everything ensured that the history didn't stand in the way of comfort.

The large and beautiful common area consisting of three rooms with a fireplace and comfortable soft sofas and armchairs was a great place to relax with a cocktail in a company of friends.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. I lost my mobile phone in a taxi and one of them even went to the house of the person who found it and by the time we were back from the diner the phone was waiting for me at the reception desk!

The location is also very convenient. It is a short bus ride (the bus stop is just across the street from the hotel door) from the noisy and overcrowded historical center, yet close to the popular night club area Docas and halfway to Belem with its beautiful monastery and the popular Pastéis de Belém café with the best pastéis (famous Portugese dessert) in Lisbon.

Overall, the house, the design, the people and the atmosphere did not feel like we were in a hotel at all… it was more like we were living in a large house and we felt like we could live there for a very long time. The place is not cheap, but it is absolutely worth it! We will definitely come back and recommend it to our friends.

Room Tip: Check out the Old Kitchen Room - it has a unique feel to it. Ramalhete Suite is huge and will be good for a family with kids.

Beautiful place, recently opened up. warm and friendly staff, beautiful house, we were offered a suite instead of the room we had booked. The Palacio offered a swimming pool, nice gardens at the back, many lectures room, well decorated and furnisghed. An authentic setting wich brings a special atmosphere to the stay. Well located between Belem and Baixa, close to the port and a lot of night activities. We higly recommend it. Thank you again to the staff.

From the outside there is no sign of what lies behind the unmarked green door of this restored palace, Yet it is worth the effort of finding this hidden gem. Recently refurbished, this hotel offers beautifully decorated rooms and suites, airy reception rooms and a breakfast room and bar where gourmet breakfasts are served each morning.
From our spacious suite, we watched the sun rise overthe Tagus river each morning.
The staff were wonderfully attentive, recommending and booking restaurants and advising on how to access the many attractions of Lisbon.
It always adds to the attractions of a great city to stay in accommodation that reflects its atmosphere. Lisbon is a city of great charm and many hidden treasures and this hotel reflects it perfectly. Mant thanks to Tassilo, Frederick and the rest of the staff for a memorable stay.
