“Just right for one night”
Reviewed 12 January 2014

Hotel Roma is conveniently located near the airport. It has spacious, clean rooms. The lack of unpaid parking space could be a reason not to stay at this hotel when you have rented a car.
We arrived late afternoon and had to catch a very early flight the next morning, so we missed breakfast which was actually included in the price. We asked whether they could prepare a packed lunch, but this was not an option according to the not so friendly staff member at the reception desk.
The air conditioning in our room was not working (a thousand apologies from the servicing guy that came to our room to 'fix' it). We were forced to open the window and could not check whether the 'noise-proof-window-system', with which the hotel advertized prominently, was actually working..
Nevertheless the hotel offers good value for money.

Stayed here for one night as we had just missed our flight home. Very friendly yet stylish service. Superb meal with wine via room service. Spacious bathroom. We had to be up and away early so they made us two packed lunches instead of breakfast. They helped my wife down to the front door (she had a broken leg) and called for us one of the few taxis in Lisbon who didn't charge double what they ought to. Brilliant!

We stayed twice during December 2013, a one night stay before hiking the Rota Vicentina, then returning for four nights over Christmas. We were able to leave a bag at the hotel while we hiked which was very helpful. The first one night stay was on a quiet side of the hotel which was very nice. When we returned from our hike for our four night stay we were put in a room over the rail lines with an ancient TV (the remote barely worked). I can't recommend this side of the hotel as it is loud and during high winds the double windows rattle a lot.
Breakfast was typical of a large hotel in Portugal, the service was very good and tables were quickly rotated with no waiting.
Wi fi is okay though the timeout period is short and I was signing in often.
Overall, a typical large hotel with everything you need.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms over the rail line.

Located in front of the train station and just a block from the local tube (metro), the green line, can be reached also from the airport either by tube or taxi.
Standard fare for a taxi from the airport to the hotel is around 7-8€, be aware that often, especially if you land in the evening/night taxis try to cheat you asking for a higher price (sometimes the double).
The hotel is a good three stars with wide rooms, with cable tv (basic), minibar, hairdrier and other basic rooms needs.
Furniture are a bit old but ok.
Wi-fi is free of charge.
The hotel has a very good restaurant always open, good point as frequently restaurants are closed on Sunday in the area or on holy days.
Breakfast is just ok, even if you can find also eggs, bacon, soup, sausages but, and that's a real pity no fresh fruits or yoghurt.
Lobby staff is almost nice and will to help in case of needs, even if sometimes you have to push them a little bit to fix your problems, or at least you had to do it.

The rooms are quite spacious and very clean. I really liked it. Everything works except that the wifi is very slow during peak hours but after midnight it picks up. The breakfast buffet is "ok." I couldn't believe they didn't have bacon. Almost all hotels i've stayed in that serves continental breakfast have bacon. It should be standard like free wifi. The only real downside of this hotel is that it's 7 stops via metro from the city center. So it's a bit far from where the action is. But overall, it's value for money.

This is not the best hotel in Lisbon, but it si a very good choice. Close to a metro station, you can easily move around the city. Mano shops and restaurants are in teve newrby, though. The rooms are big enough, same with the toilet. Good quality towels and linen. The downside can be the thin walls (you can hear almost everything from the next room), the small and old tv and the hard to deal with air con remote control.
Quite reasonable and plenty breakfast.
Friendly staff.

We stayed at the Hotel Roma, Lisbon one night in October 2013. The hotel is situated about one block from the Roma metro station on the Green Line. In just a matter of minutes you can be in the centre of the town. The room we stayed in (a standard double with queen-sized bed) was of average size, clean and nice but with a feeling of past time in colours and equipment . The bathroom was also clean and fully functioning. Breakfast was included in our rate, however as we had an early flight the next day and we was not able to enjoy breakfast . The airport is not fare from the hotel an we paid about 10 Euro. This is a nice hotel for just a stop over but you should not have to much expectations about comfort and style.
