We were in LIsbon two times for this vacation, starting there and then ending there after a side trip to the Algarve. We decided to book two different hotels in two different areas and Jeronimo 8 was the second place we stayed.

After being in central Lisbon for the first part of our journey we were concerned about moving out to Belem, where this hotel is located. But the Belem area has much to offer and so does this hotel.

It is spotless. Comfortable, the staff is so friendly and cannot do enough for you. Breakfast is lovely, nice assortment, also great staffing.

Belem is filled with places to see. Of course we stopped at he Monestery, and the the modern art collection in the Cultural Center. The water front has many monuments and the park areas are great for nature lovers. The President's palace is in this town. And the of course there is a famous bakery, open till 11 pm and always busy.

To get into Lisbon proper after touring for a good part of the day we tool a river cruise from the Belem waterfront to downtown LIsbon. A very pleasant hour.

Room Tip: ask for a room off the main street

I stayed there with our team during the Volvo Ocean Race for about 14 days. The hotel was very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. They all spoke English. The rooms were rather small especially for a couple with a lot of luggage (a typical city hotel). The breakfast buffet was great and the service staff very friendly and fast.

Travelled here for a three night stay for the Half-Marathon, chose this hotel initially as it was close to the finish line and it looked smart! The hotel exceeded our expectations and more, great room, bathroom, lovely food - would definately go back.

Room Tip: Room 109 (I think) - two balconies, above front entrance.

I stayed at this hotel for a week in July 2012, on my own. I can fully recommend it. My room was comfortable, quiet and well-equipped. The breakfast buffet provided was appetising and serving staff very helpful. The one meal I ate at the hotel, on a Sunday when local restaurants were closed, was acceptable, indeed rather better than one or two I had elsewhere. The hotel staff at reception could not have been more helpful, with plenty of advice and willingness, for instance, to book tables at restaurants. My car was parked directly outside the hotel and came to no harm. The local area has lots of interest, including the monastery and the cultural centre. The location is close to the main motorway system, so trips up country are convenient. And there is a railway station with services to Lisbon or the other way to the coastal resorts. Belem is, however, about 25 minutes out of the centre by public transport, so if you want to walk out of your hotel right into down-town Lisbon, this is not the place for you. But on the other hand the area is quiet and the public transport is very good and, if you get a day ticket, cheap at 5 euros a day. Take a 15E tram to get to the city centre. I was very happy with my stay.

Room Tip: I had the room with a small decking area outside which was very pleasant in the fine weather during...

I booked this hotel primarily for it's location to the the Optimus Alive music festival at the beginning. However, having researched a bit about Lisbon it is the perfect location for exploring the whole city and not just the centre.

We have been able to get to the beach on the train within 30 mins, the centre of town by tram within 20 mins or so and for the local sights we could see them from our duel aspect window.

The staff went out of their way speaking to the airline when our bags were lost by the baggage handlers, organised a taxi to the airport for our early flight and even made us up a breakfast picnic.

Breakfast was more than I was expecting it was lovely and all you can ever need, even supplying local speciality pastries.

Will definitely come back to this hotel as we couldn't fit everything in. We travel a lot around Europe and this is right up there with the best of them. Lisbon and Jeronimos 8 thank you 10/10.

Location: next to the Jeronimos monastery, with easy access to Belem sights and good connections to the city center and the airport. A great building, beautifully renovated into a "feel good" boutique hotel with minimalist interior design, open spaces, a couple of striking sculptures and a functional feel. Had a very comfortable room with two small balconies overlooking a scented tree in the front. Breakfast very good. Fun, well-stocked bar. Staff most kind/helpful as well as efficient, also on the phone (when we made our reservation). A place we shall be happy to return to.

Loved this hotel, it was modern, very clean and well appointed. I had a "small" room, i.e. single room, but it was more than ample. Amazing location, far better than being in downtown Lisbon, very convenient for the conference centre. The local buses are easy to use and stop literally around the corner from the hotel, making travel a breeze. The staff are super helpful and even prepared me a breakfast pack for an early morning airport transport. Breakfast was lovely, made better by the famous custard tarts from the famous shop - Pastries de Belem (also around the corner.) Free wifi. Would come back without hesitation.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the monastery is lovely
