The location of this hotel is great. It is easy to get to and from and is just minutes from trains, buses, and the Metro. The front desk staff is pleasant and helpful--they quickly resolved a light bulb issue and gave me an extra pillow when I requested it. The hotel is definitely on a busy street with theaters, late night street dining, and lots of people. I found these noises to be fun and interesting the first night I was there, but they did detract from a good night's sleep. On subsequent nights we discovered how good the windows are--we closed them up tight and turned on the air conditioning and the room transitioned into a peaceful place to sleep.

The bathroom is small and the toilet in our room was situated in a way that would not work for most men or anyone with long legs. For this reason, we assumed that many previous occupants had used the bidet for toilet-type reasons and there was a definite smell of urine.

The breakfast was nice and convenient and we enjoyed being able to eat before heading out for a day of sightseeing. There was reasonable variety and the hot foods seemed to be hot. There did seem to be a huge throng of folks trying to all eat at 9 am, but if you arrived earlier there were always plenty of tables available.

Good value!

Room Tip: The front rooms have a view of the street and it was always fun to people watch from them. There is...

We moved here from the Downtown Design Hostel. What a delight. Lovely room, large bathroom. Double glazed window to keep out the noise. Very pleasant, helpful staff. Good breakfast. Made our weekend in Lisbon a very happy one.

We like to stay in apartments but as we were only there for three days and the reviews
were good , we took a chance. It was a good location and the desk manager was really exceptional. He set up a tour for us to Sentra and for a taxi to a hotel nearer the airport since we had an extremely early flight out. The breakfast was an unexpected treat and service was
quick and effecient. It was listed as budget hotel and while it was very reasonable I did not
consider it "budget" just great value for your money. Lisbon seems to not have as many mid-
range hotel but don't let the price scare you off.

Room Tip: I heard someone wanting to change their room. they were faced the street and said it was noisy. The...

Perfect location for seeing Lisbon. Centrally located to historic Lisbon and beside train and metro stations, bus and tram stops. Rooms are basic but clean, rather small (as it is mostly the case in city hotels in southern Europe) and they are not as quiet as one would like it. But come on: you are in a busy area. What do you expect? We did not take our breakfast (although included) because the breakfast room was to small, to crowed to noisy.
To round up: The Florescente met our needs, the staff was helpful and the prices reasonable.

We stayed here twice while we were in Portugal. The first time we arrived at 1:30 a.m. and the hotel reception welcomed us and had already informed our friends that our flight had been delayed and we would be late arriving. The hotel room was immaculate with a very large bathroom. Loved it! The staff was helpful and the breakfast had lots of variety for any taste. It is close to a theatre and facing a concert hall so there were lots of people around on the weekend and that was entertaining. Plus there is a great choice of restaurants all along the street and the downtown area is about 5 minutes walk.
The second time we stayed there was at the end of our stay, partly because the hotel is close to the metro and the shuttle bus for the airport, but mostly because we really liked it. The room we had the second time was newly renovated and very comfortable. For us North Americans...the bathroom fixtures were really unique (and brand new) so it was perfect! Highly recommend Residencial Florescente.

My wife and I had two days for touring in Lisbon and with the help of Trip Advisor, we found this to be in an excellent downtown location for tourism. The room was of ample size, clean, and comfortable. The staff was helpful in giving us direction for the tour buses and tram 128 that takes one on an excellent tour into the Moorish areas. The Residencial Florescente is on a pedestrian street, so it is a good idea to locate it first on a Lisbon map. Taxis, however, can drive to where it can be reached in a two-minute walk.

We spent five days at this hotel in august. the hotel is rather picturesque and charming, excellently located. nearby you can find a lot of resonable good restaurants. the staff was helpful, speak english, the breakfast is not something extra but more than acceptable. we were placed at top (6-th) floor in very nice, comfortable and clean room. the only problem I find with hotel is that it's not so easy to find if you come with car couse it's in pedestrian zone. you can book the parking place but it's in public garage that is very nearby, but be very alert if you drive the van couse some of parking places that belongs to the hotel are not sutable for vans.

Room Tip: choose the room above third floor cose they're quieter
