“Great central location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

Spotlessly clean. Friendly reception staff. I was in room 208 which was compact and no view other than air conditioning units, but experienced no street noise at all even though set in a busy area with pavement restaurants all around. Near taxi, bus stop and Metro. Great location.

This hotel is very well positioned for a city break, with transport, shops, squares, the sea all within walking distance. The Hotel is on a lively pedestrianised road with umpteen al fresco restaurants between it and the Praca Dom Pedro IV all vying for your custom. All very friendly but the button holing can be a bit wearing after a while. However they were good for seafood, chicken etc or just sitting having a drink.

The hotel room we had, a standard double, was clean but small with minimal clothes storage. A small bathroom with shower over the bath. No plug for the basin which was irritating. Air conditioning was useful. and the room overall was fine for our four night stay. Free wifi was handy and we had no problem getting it on the 4th floor. There were two free computer terminals in the lounge as well. This also had a range of extremely comfortable chairs and sofas on which to sit and wait for your friends. Breakfast was buffet style with hot scrambled egg and bacon, cold meats, cheeses, fruits, rolls, toast, cereal and yogurts. Even chocolate mousse or egg custard. I thought the quality was pretty good. The breakfast room seemed rather small for the number of rooms however and a good tip is to get there early to avoid the rush and a queue - especially at weekends.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue we had (once) was that our room had not been cleaned by our return to the hotel at 4pm. This happened twice to our travelling companions on consecutive days though. However overall a good value well positioned and maintained hotel. I would certainly recommend it.

This was our second stay at the Residencial Florescente - we rebooked it because we loved it so much the first time. Since our last visit in July 2012, they have done some remodeling. Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable - and very quiet at night. The beds were great! The bathroom was huge and modern and looked out on the castle. The front desk staff is professional and helpful. Breakfast is in a large, airy room, and there is a good selection to suit all tastes. Wifi access is free. The hotel is perfectly located near Restauradores Square. This time we took the metro from the airport and just had to walk about 3 minutes to the hotel. It's located on a pedestrian street with lots of restaurants and street entertainment, and with easy access to all kinds of transportation to see the sites of Lisbon.

Room Tip: Our first room had a balcony over the street - a bit noisy, although the shutters blocked out most s...

Located in a street just for pedestrians, behind Restauradores Square and just some meters from the Rossio Station, this hotel is really a great option to spend a couple of days discovering Lisbon. The staff is really friendly and Mr. Antonio, at front desk, gave us good clues about Portuguese wines and traditional and cheap restaurants located close to this hotel.

Considering European parameters, the room was clean and had a good size. Bathroom needs some improvement. During my staying, the old tub didn't support the quantity of water and at the end of my shower, it was completely flooded. I believe that it was a pontual issue and it did not bother me.

Location, cleanliness, fair breakfast, friendly staff and good value! I'd stay at this hotel again.

As many others have said, this hotel has a great location. We found that we were so close to the Lisbon sights, metro, and train stations that we saved a lot of time and energy during our eleven night stay. Antonio, Joao, and other staff members spoke excellent English and were always very helpful. The rooms were of adequate size and were cleaned daily. The breakfasts were wonderful with many choices and an attentive staff that constantly replenished the buffet. The wifi was very dependable and is included in the room rate. This hotel is great bargain, and you probably need to book well ahead as it is very popular.

Room Tip: The rooms on the lower floors facing the street are a little noisy.

Great location near Rossio - near tons of restaurants, transportation, and sites. The room was large - with a living room! - but the bathroom was tiny. No room for right leg on toilet - seriously! Straddling was needed to get around the vanity. The shower was handheld (this is easily fixed), and they only gave 2 packages of shower gel and soap - no shampoo.

Room Tip: Avoid facing the front unless you're ok with some noise.

The Residencial Florescente is a great hotel located close to restaurants, train stations, Metro and the Hop-on Hop off stops. We got off our cruise ship to spend four extra days in Lisbon. This hotel worked great. The room was large with a separate sitting area from the bedroom on the 3rd floor overlooking the street. There is a lot of street noise as the locals stay out late but closing the window eliminated all the noise. Joao worked the front desk in the afternoon/early evening and made a great recommendation for "A Provinciana", a neighborhood restaurant frequented by the locals. It was a few blocks away and we were the only tourist there. Our dining experience was a wonderful taste of Portuguese food with Portuguese people as about 1/3 the cost of the restaurants in the tourist areas. Highly recommend.
