“I'd go back for the hand soaps alone!”
Reviewed 7 July 2013 via mobile

The Hotel Turim provided a very comfortable stay. I was given an enormous room that was airy and very clean.

Although a 25-30 minute walk to Lisbon town centre, the hotel is very well positioned for metro stations with both Parque and Picoas within an easy 5 minutes walk offering access to the city centre, airport and main rail stations in just a few stops. At €6.50 for a 24hr metro ticket, much cheaper and faster than a taxi! (The taxi from the airport to the Hotel Turim was €22)

Staff were attentive and efficient. I only dined in the hotel restaurant for breakfast. There was a good selection of both cooked and cold food to choose from.

All in all, very good value for money. And maybe the nicest hotel hand soap I've come across - seriously lovely. (Isn't it odd how the kittle things tend to stick in your mind?!)

So why not an 'excellent' rating? A weak wifi signal that kept dropping out combined with a lack of accessible power sockets - I had to pull the bed out from the wall to find somewhere to boil the kettle.

(And for transparency, if your tastes run to shiny, ulta-modern interiors, you might find the dated decor unpalatable. It didn't bother me in the slightest, so no marks off by this reviewer for that...)

Couldn't fault this hotel in any way. Vast, very well furnished room, spotless, very comfortable bed, fridge, lovely bathroom, elegant decor.
Very generous buffet breakfast with excellent pastries, hot items, fruit, breads, yoghurts etc and every dish/plate automatically replenished when running low.
Staff very friendly and helpful and we were even able to go to our room at 11 a.m despite check-in being 14.00.
Located close to four metro stations giving easy access to city centre although under 30 minutes easy walk to most places. Metro stop to airport only 5 minutes away.
We were so impressed with this hotel that we asked for the hotel group's full brochure to see which of their other places we could stay in elsewhere in Portugal!

Stayed here on a recent trip through Portugal. Compared to many other hotels around, this one was really great value for money. Spacious room, good location (maybe 10 minutes by metro to the town center), possibility to park at the hotel included in the price (not needed for us as we were there on a Sunday so could park outside for free anyway). The room was comfortable, large, and quiet, and although we were at the back of the hotel, I would think rooms at the front are probably not too noisy either as the hotel is on a relatively quiet street. As someone else mentioned, breakfast was not great, but I think that overall the positives outweigh the negatives, especially when you consider the price.

have just returned from a week in Lisbon, booked through My vacations, which we will use again.
TaP airline was fantastic,no cramped seats plenty of legroom. we stayed at the Turim Lisboa Hotel.
we could not find fault with it, room's were large, well equipped , huge bed's,well appointed bathroom.
Breakfast was hot and cold buffet and plenty to be had. Staff were superb.20 minute walk down to the centre . well worth a look at !! reviewing a few restaurants in area so check those out too !!

Room Tip: we stayed in room 304 which is at the front of hotel overlooking the road, but undisturbed sleep.so...

There were two positives: A very good and well-furnished room; generally efficient staff. Unfortunately, these were outweighed by the negatives: On the first night the heating system has apparently failed? Some staff were tawdry and downright insolent? Breakfast was a trial of searching for crockery and food and coffee. Much was made of a ‘happy hour’, but guess what, this didn’t apply to the more popular drinks and the theme certainly did note emanate from employees!

A good hotel . Room spacious and clean . Tea making facilities replenished every day aswere the toiletries. Buffet breakfast was good but if you want full English breakfast this hotel is not for you . Staff very helpful and friendly and all spoke very good English.

Limited choice of restaurants but the restaurant opposite the hotel gave excellent value for money and had extremely good meal there.

Hotel near the hop on hop off buses which we used and managed to go all four tours in the 48 hour time scale . We went to the beach which was very
enjoyable .

All round good clean quite hotel

Our first visit to Lisbon and a great base to stay. A little way from the centre but only 10 mins by metro away from lots of historical sights. Try the tram ride (No 28) to the castle then walk back down through narrow strees and stairways. The modern tram takes you to Belem for lots more attractions. Buses go all over the place. We bought a Via Viagem card each and over 4 days, still had change from 15 euros each. Back to the Turim - in a shady little side street on the bus route from the airport, the hotel was spotlessly clean, provided a ggod range of food for breakfast, with top ups when requested. The room we had on the 6th floor overlooked lots of roofs and the River Tagus in the distance. Staff were very obliging and made us feel very welcome, all speaking English. We would certainly stay again .
