We just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. It is in a convenient location. Don't let the stark outside fool you. The room we had was large and comfortable. We think it was a handicap room...there were no rugs on the hard wood floors. There was a little kitchen area behind some nice wood doors. We did not use it, but it's nice if you wanted to keep some food in the room. The gentleman who helped us with check-in was very nice, helpful and spoke very good English. Breakfast was part of our package. There were a lot of cookies and cakes, some fruit, and a hot food station that had eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes and waffles. The only downside to our stay was that we could hear the people in the room above when they used the toilet.

Room Tip: The rooms in the back overlooked the locals balconies. There was a hound dog who would bark in the l...

Found this hotel through a BA holiday package, only about 15 minute taxi from airport and 20 minute stroll into the City towards the water.
Hotel is clean and staff are welcoming, good at this price point.

Having returned from three nights stay at the hotel, my opinion is that it is a shadow of what it may have once been.
The entrance to the hotel is light and largely marble. Consisting of a check in desk, bar and seating area.

Check in was efficient, the lady in the desk did not speak English, but quickly found a colleague who did. The room was a double on the fourth floor (401), which was very generous in size. The room contained a small table and chairs, kitchenette with mini bar, television, along with having an ensuite.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable for me, however my partner did not agree about the bed (but bed comfort is very individual). The room was a little tired, with wallpaper coming away from the wall slightly and a dinosaur of a television which didn't work. The large window made sure that it was nice and light, but the view was nothing special, just the backs of buildings.
The mini bar was extortionately priced, with a 33cl bottle of water costing around €3.00 - the local supermarket sold the same brand and size for €0.50 and 1.5 litres for €0.75. The room was also equipped with a working air conditioning unit.
The ensuite bathroom was large and clean, with a good shower over the bath and bidet. The downside of the large bathroom was that the lighting was over the sink, making the shower rather dark.

Breakfast was included with our room and we ate in the restaurant twice during our stay. We were welcomed on arrival to the restaurant and given a choice of tables. The breakfast offering was a hot and cold buffet, consisting of: scrambled egg, sausage, bacon, waffles, selection of pastries and cakes, toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit salad and hot and cold drinks. The quality of food was ok, but nothing special. There was generally a delay in replacing fished items, but requests for more of something seemed to be well received from what I observed among fellow diners.

The location of the hotel was fair. It was situated about a 12 minute walk from the round-about of the Marquis de Pombal (hub for one of the tourist buses). However, the walk back to the hotel from the main square on the river side was about 45 minutes. I was pleased to be with my partner when walking back to the hotel at night, although nothing untoward occurred.

Overall, the hotel was a reasonable reflection of what we paid. If you do not like walking to get into the main areas, this probably isn't the place for you.

Nothings is really bad about this hotel but nothing is really good either.
The location could be better. It is far away from the "city" where all the things happens. The only good about the location is that it is close to where all the sighseeing bus leave since they all have the park as the hub.
The possiblity to eat is not either so good since there is not so many restaurants nearby,
The wifi is really bad in the rooms.
And the breakfast is not good. Not many alternatives, the is no clean water just tapwater. The service seems unorginaze and they refill the food very slow.
For the money you pay, you can get a better hotel.

Room Tip: i would choose another hotel

Good location and very clean. Nice personal. Totally recomand it. 5 minutes to El Cortese Ingles. 2 minutes to bus station. 8 minutes to Marques de Pombal square. Very good breakfest except the coffee and juice. Only instant and artificial.

This hotel is near the Gloria Finicular tram and there is a sex shop on the corner as well which you have to walk past all the time. The shop is not a problem however there were a lot of men selling hash and other things whenever you walked passed.. My husband was asked more that 20 times in 3 days...very annoying….. ….The rooms are modern and clean and have a view of the castle from the balcony . The bed is comfortable and the shower is good however the door didn't close properly so we had small water leakage… the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend it.. great price

Room Tip: Go to a higher floor to avoid any possible street noise… and ask for street side if you want a view...

I think the first thing, I noticed was the space. There were only two of us but our room was HUGE. You just don't get rooms that size these days and I wasn't expecting a sink and cooking facilities!

The reviews here were not favourable so I was expecting the place to be awful but it was the complete opposite, even the breakfast so many people moaned about was fine and the hotel even provided me with gluten free options as requested. The location was great, central, with a supermarket close by and two metro stations, as well as the post office so lots of handy things around. We took the metro from the airport which was quite easy, two flights of stairs to go up in the metro and a little difficult to wheel the suitcase on the cobbled pavement but all in all, well located. The restaurant opposite the hotel, (not the one to the right when facing the restaurants backing the hotel) sells delicious food, well priced and big portions, but I'd say what really made this hotel was the staff. Every.Single.One.Of.Them were absolutely wonderful, welcoming and went out of their way to help you with any matter at any time of the day. It was my friend's birthday and they arranged a lovely surprise for her upon my request, then without my knowledge they left us some wine and lovely treats to celebrate. I was very happy overall and had a great experience with them and would definitely stay here again
