We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and could not fault it. The location is excellent for all the tourist attractions, the staff were friendly and very helpful (and spoke good English), the rooms were clean, very comfortable and fun and the breakfast was fabulous. Our rooms were the small size but we had thought we were in the medium so they obviously weren't that small! The breakfast buffet had loads of choice: lots of fresh fruit, dried fruit, yoghurt, pastries, cakes, mouses, cold meats and cheeses and an assortment of breads as well as a selection of hot food. There were several varieties of teas and coffees to choose from as well as a selection of fruit juices. The TV in the room had a large variety of foreign channels to cater for lots of nationalities and was a very large flat screen. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet at night. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a central Lisbon hotel.

*Note: I would love to give this hotel 4.5 stars*

My husband and I spent four nights at this hotel and loved it! The hotel was stylish, the staff were incredibly helpful (especially with restaurant recommendations) and best of all was the location. We walked everywhere all over town, with the Design Hotel being an ideal home base. We didn't take a taxi or a tram once.

The only drawback was the room size. We stayed in a small and it was as advertised - small. We were tripping over our bags constantly. However, the price was good so it was no big deal.

Other upsides: fun design, great happy hour bar location, scrumptious bathrobes and bath products, and a shower with a plethora of settings.

Room Tip: Note that the rooms are very small.

You've seen the reviews from a series of other reviewers and you are asking yourself if it is possible that a hotel can be that good. The answer is 'yes'. Certainly the barman was not a happy bunny when we returned at 11:45pm for drinks, when he was intent on closing up at midnight! However, setting that aside the Internacional has superb front-desk staff, lovely rooms and a brilliant location.

Room Tip: Splash out on a larger room, to get the corner position with balconies plus more space.

The location can't be beat for a short stay in Lisbon. Its an excellent base to stroll west one day, and east another. Very close to Barrio Alto as well, which is where we went each night. The staff gave us great information (fluent English). We stayed in the cocoon room, which was exactly that, but was a good price.

Room Tip: Cocoon room is very small (but cheapest) but we were fine.

A great place in a great location!

We loved the hotel.
Very modern, funky, well thought out designs.
Breakfast spread was incredible! Food for your every desire!

Very clean, extras like bathrobes.
High spec, high standards.

Only negative is the beds (although high quality) were extremely hard and we both had poor sleeps because of it. I would highly recommend the hotel invest in a mattress foam etc for comfort. After all, you pay for a good nights sleep. Also, ask for top sheets. They only give you a duvet which means either turning the aircon right down to freeze or being too hot.

Every thing else was A+

I would definitely return and just ask for the bed situation to be changed.

Location couldn't be better!

Enjoy.
