“A trip to the stars”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2012

If you want to visit the stars lying down in a comfortable chair, this is the place to go. It will be dark and quiet, so many people fall asleep (my father says it's one of the best places to sleep but you pay for it). It's worth a try.

“Marvelous space experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 November 2012

The Planetarium is located in a large Square Between 2 section on the Maritime museum (main building in the Jeronimos Monastery and Large boats exposition room) and facing Belem Cultural Centre (with Modern art museum). The building itself is dated from the 70´s and inside there´s a small exposition space stuff (rocks, models, posters...). The large exhibition room revolves around the huge 360º ceiling projector. recumbent chair make the viewing more confortable. The show´s about the solar system, space travel, planets, galaxies and Stars, accompanied with stereo sounds and music (Blue Danube, Star wars soundtrack...), and some live explanations. Its a well spent 1 hour show! (avoid the early shows, or else you will catch the juvenile/kids session with the room filled with restless and noisy kids!)
